I wish I could play SOMA. I've played a bit and it interests me, but playing it makes me way too stressed out. I didn't even get to the monsters in the game but for some reason the sneaking really gets to me :|

I started up Alone in the Dark (iOS) last night. IT took about a dozen attempts, but after kicking a zombie to death, I finally made it out of the attic. I think I will be following a walkthrough for this one because the controls are...TERRIFYING!!!!

(BTW, the iOS version is a straight port of the PC original with smoother textures. It even features a "Quit to DOS" option in the settings menu. )

The controls are terrifying on the PC version as well.

I actually played this game a bit on a PC back in the 90s - shocking, huh?! - and I agree completely. IMO, the touch controls here help a little bit because playing the game with a keyboard was an absolute...NIGHTMARE!!!

the keyboard doesn't make a lot of sense. Lots of "SPACEBAR + something" input. Ugh. I wonder if there's a patch out there for something more intuitive?

If you've got the PC version, there's a mod to make the monsters passive, if that'd help.

Wow, that's crazy. I can't imagine playing the game with passive monsters

SOMA as pure walking simulator doesn't sound like too much fun, though I guess if the setting is creepy enough. Dave, not withstanding the sneaking about, how do you feel about the atmosphere?
