I don't think Konami is interested in any more expansion, considering they recently consolidated a lot of their IPs... and there definitely IS something to why a Western Developer/Publisher has not bought out a Japanese counterpart, I wonder what makes it a huge hassle, as that doesn't seem to affect other industries and corporate buyouts of foreign properties?
As Chrono has said, Capcom isn't actually for sale. It just could be if someone thinks it's worth the rather large outlay of money to activate a hostile takeover. Capcom have stuttered a bit recently but they aren't broke. This isn't the same as Atlus' situation.

Capcom will probably just keep bumbling along for now pissing off their fanbase and occasionally releasing a SFIV update.

Street Fighter V is actually in proto mode from capcom's basement and year 2018 is a likely target date for the release.. as tweeted by Tomoaki Ayano recently. Of course anything can happen before that..

2018? haha well that means there can be at least 4 more versions of IV released, I wonder what they will name them all.

I worked for RockTenn briefly & my dad works for them as well. I got the impression that they are going places so look for the stock going up.

@$102 now

So if I ''should, would, could a'" bought some 10,000 shares @ $15 (at low), when Rock Tenn bought them it was a half buy out on stocks. (Rock Tenn would have bought 5,000 of my shares @ $27 then gave me 5,000 Rock Tenn shares now worth $102 each.

Could have turned $150k into $585k.

I deal with the sales guys sometimes and their competition too. And my brother works for them, small world.

Just make sure to give the rest of the Capcom arcade beat'em ups some official home ports already.

Wow, I really hope you guys can manage to get this done, especially without too much risk to your regular livelihoods. While I don't feel as negatively towards Capcoms recent games as most people, I do agree that they've certainly dropped in quality over the years, and I think that you guys would most likely help improve that curve.

I'm too young and poor to contribute anything, but I wish the best of luck to you. Can't wait to see the news articles about this.

Serves Capcom right that they are failing. Capcom ruined Resident Evil, ditched Dino Crisis and neglected other series just to eventually crumble.

9 years ago Resident Evil 4 brought Capcom back on top. Now they're going to crash and burn because they screwed over their loyal fans and wouldn't give up on the stupid stuff.

Games like New Super Mario Bros. have showed you can give gamers the traditional style and still be a best seller.

I hope Capcom's inevitable collapse serves as a lesson.
They have escaped into the mansion where they thought it was safe, yet.

This.

If I don't get Cadillacs & Dinosaurs, heads will roll.
