On Amazon, Metroid Trilogy is $100 new. WHy would Gamestop sell a Wii+XenoBlade+Metroid Trilogy for just $40 ? If they make it $150 people will still buy I guess...mas wrote:Gamestop is going to sell wii to powerup members for 39.99 on black Friday. Along with that and xenoblade and metroid prime trilogy I am certain people will buy a wii for that price. Hell i have a nice red one saved at my local gamestop waiting for black Friday.Reprise wrote:Well no one is buying Wiis anymore and it has already been shown that despite the Wii shifting so many console numbers, unlike other consoles, Wii owners just weren't buying software in great numbers.
How dead is the Wii?

First off, they're $40 each; not $40 all together. Second, did you miss this thread?RCBH928 wrote:On Amazon, Metroid Trilogy is $100 new. WHy would Gamestop sell a Wii+XenoBlade+Metroid Trilogy for just $40 ? If they make it $150 people will still buy I guess...

The fact they're selling them so cheap, shows Gamestop is desperate to get rid of stock. It doesn't show that Wii is still a huge seller Nintendo should be supporting...

Re: How dead is the Wii?
It still will be a great time to get a wii and those two games. It will cost you 120.00 all together and I'm sure in a few months after christmas those two games will still be 70 and up a piece.
Re: How dead is the Wii?
Well , it is a last gen. console... Any way I never got why last generation consoles continue to sell well 2-3 years later, I can understand why games get released later on but I dont get why so many people continue to buy last generation consoles 2 years after next gen. is out.Reprise wrote:The fact they're selling them so cheap, shows Gamestop is desperate to get rid of stock. In Wii's condition, it is kind of last-last gen. console since it was not HD and no way near the graphical power of PS3/360 , not to mention the lack of storage space . Its like between the PS2 and PS3 generation

Generations are defined by the timeframe of release, not by power.RCBH928 wrote: In Wii's condition, it is kind of last-last gen. console since it was not HD and no way near the graphical power of PS3/360 , not to mention the lack of storage space . Its like between the PS2 and PS3 generation
Besides, the Wii does have a lot of common features of that generation. Wireless controllers as standard, no need for memory cards, greater focus on online play, robust bios with many features, digitally downloadable games (including downloadable versions of old games), non-game functions like internet browsing, etc.
Re: How dead is the Wii?
I happened to really fall in love with my wii. A couple guys suggested I sell everything and just get a 360 or a ps3 for myself but I tell them no way. It wouldn't make sense. My dreamcast and ps2 has way too many good games to get rid of and my wii games are really fun. The guys at work tell me that those systems suck and old and the wii has just kids games or shitty games. Then I start telling them the titles from the list you guys put out as good games and it usually shuts them up
I will be picking up the Mario and luigi wii motes coming out in November. They look great and I think those are going to be very hard to get like the Zelda remote

Re: How dead is the Wii?
I get what you say, but supposedly some crazy company came out with a console that is as powerful as the Sega Saturn, would you consider it a "This Generation" console along with the PS4/X1 ?AppleQueso wrote:Generations are defined by the timeframe of release, not by power.RCBH928 wrote: In Wii's condition, it is kind of last-last gen. console since it was not HD and no way near the graphical power of PS3/360 , not to mention the lack of storage space . I think , in definition, we should say that generations are defined by the timeframe of release between the top competing console manufacturers
Are there still releases for WiiWare and VC console, btw? I must have asked this question about a million times in this forum by now. Either no one answered me or I got short memory loss
Re: How dead is the Wii?
No. Last WiiWare release was Retro City Rampage back on Feb. 28th and last VC games was Sengoku 3 on June 6th.RCBH928 wrote:

Not sure what the difference between what constitutes "WiiWare" opposed to WiiU E Shop releases aside from the branding.
