Pay attention. This debate isn't about hardcore gamers, although that term gets thrown around in some of my posts. It's about hardcore games, and classifying games as hardcore or casual.

In case that's some sort of a personal jab: I've never claimed to be a hardcore gamer on this forum. I've been "borderline hardcore" in the past, but I never managed to break the glass ceiling despite excessive time use.

They put a lot of effort into researching old and obscure games, making comparisons etc. It's an activity that requires a great deal of knowledge, skill (in many cases) and commitment. Something that most gamers, or retro gamers for that matter, aren't able to do - hence the term, hardcore.

Seriously, what a stupid, idiotic argument. If you feel better classifying people into groups that play "hardcore" games and those that do not, then I hope you have fun. No one cares, not here on this forum, and not in real life. If some kid walked up to me in an EB and told me a game I was looking at wasn't "hardcore", I would turn, smile at him, and tell him to fu*k off and get a life.
