Now I have my Dreamcast hooked up to my HDTV, and it looks phenominal. Any tips for using my import boot disc with the VGA connection though? I have a DC-X Import Boot disc, and I wasn't able to get it to load.

I suggest anyone that has their Dreamcast setup with the VGA cable try playing Daytona USA on it, I never saw that game look so amazing.

Some games will not work with VGA and DC-X, like Shenmue II PAL, but otherwise should be fine.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that you will not see the DC-X loading screen! Once you hear the DC-X disc load and stop spinning, open the lid and put in your import. I just tried a few games and they all worked fine like this.

So, it works normally, but the DC-X loading screen with the loading arrows will not display through VGA (at least not for me).

Hi,

Im seriously thinking of getting one of these. Are all games compatable or what. Im not into importing so all I have are NTSC games. Anything else I should know?

Thanx,

Some are, some aren't. If you have a UG account the "Dreamcast Game Catalog" says which are and aren't, I think.

I've never been able to get it to work. Mine is also a retail copy. I had read in other forums that this game had problems displaying through the VGA cable so I gave up.

If you have any suggestions, let me know! I get audio, but no visual. Edit: I'm trying to play it on an HDTV instead of a computer monitor, if that makes any difference.
