I'd like to see Ultima IV as a Western RPG.
Since there are console ports, it should be a lot easier for people to play and I've never made a serious attempt to beat it before. And since Ultima I-III are pretty minimal in terms of story, it should be a good jumping-on point.

JRPG -
Suikoden (PS1, PSN)
Phantasy Star 2 (GEN, GBA)
Lunar Silver Star - (Sega CD, PS1, PSP)

Action RPG -
Ys II (multiple)
Tales of Phantasia (SNES)
Shadowrun (Genesis or SNES but they are different)

SRPG -
Ogre Battle (SNES, PS1)
Shining Force 2 (GEN)
Warsong/Langrisser (Genesis)

Western RPG -
Buck Rogers: Countdown to Doomsday (Gen, DOS)
Fallout - (PC)
Baldur's Gate 2 (prefer when BG2EE releases)

Wildcards -
Icewind Dale (PC)
Dark Wizard (Sega CD)
Dragon Force (Saturn)
I was going to come up with some kind of list, but Jmustang like, read my mind or something man.

So I'll just throw my support behind him and second of all of his picks.

My personal favorites of his selections though are:

JRPG - Phantasy Star 2 or Lunar. Phantasy Star as a series is entirely brilliant and I always support it. I've never played Lunar at all though. I'm for both, so either way.

ARPG - Shadowrun. Normally I always choose Genesis over Snes, but I intend to play the Genesis version for the Summer Game Challenge. Unless the schedule for this club happens to overlap, in which case, yay. But I'm fine with either version. Someone else mentioned it, but I'd also like to second Popful Mail.

SRPG - I'm down for Warsong/Langrisser.

WRPG - Buck Rogers: Countdown To Doomsday. I just bought a copy of this game the other day. I always thought it looked cool, and I'll be happy to wait to play it.

No preference on the wildcards.

Just throwing these out there:

-Dragon Warrior (NES, GBC, are there more ports out there?)
-Final Fantasy I (EVERYTHING)
-Shining in the Darkness (Genesis, Isn't it on a Genesis compilation disc, too?)

I'll definitely back Lunar, I've never beaten either of them but would love to run through them again. Pretty basic but charmingly awesome JRPG's so it's a good choice I'd say.

Dragon Quest is also on the MSX, Super Famicom, and Wii (Japan only for all three). The GBC game is one of the black carts so it will work on a regular Game Boy or Super Game Boy - pretty cool if you wanna play the game on your SNES.

Final Fantasy is on NES, MSX, WonderSwan Color, PSX, GBA, and PSP.

Shining in the Darkness is on the Xbox 360 and PS3 Genesis collections as well as the Genesis itself.

All great picks - cheap and easy to find, and the first games in their respective series.

I had forgotten this was on the Genesis compilations. I'd be down for this, especially since it has just been sitting on my shelves untouched since I bought it.

Re: Together RPG of the month or quarter club? Vote for SRPG

Ok I randomly selected Strategy RPGs to start us out. I went down the nominations list and grabbed everyones first pick until we hit 10 poll options. I will give this a few days to poll, then we can go to the next genre and map out a schedule. Select your top 2 choices.
