I love the look of that Sharp. Classic computers have so much character.

this is true. Though I have multiple VMU's and try to grab diff colors -- IE: whatever sports game I'm into resides on my blue VMU.Valkyrie-Favor wrote: -VMU games are not worth your time or batteries

Different colors make all the difference for organization. I've got *5* VMUs, all different colors.noiseredux wrote:this is true. In terms of visual appeal ... I've kind of always liked the 3DO tray model by Panisonic.

But ... I have to side with a lot of people, I just think the Saturn feels like an awesome solid console in the design. I know, I know. it's a box. But I don't care. Especially the Japanese version, it's just awesome.

And their logo ... a lot better than the American one.

The Saturn is indeed a very rock solid feeling console. One of the first things I noticed when I first got mine. Feels so much less flimsy than the ps1.
Re: Your Favorite Console...in Terms of Hardware Only
Sounds less flimsy than a PS1, too. I'd say of all disc-based consoles, the Saturn sounds the best.
Re: Your Favorite Console...in Terms of Hardware Only
I'd probably say Saturn. Especially the white Saturn, of course. Followed by the Dreamcast, PSone, PS2 slimline, Genesis 2, SNES Jr, PS3 slim (not the newest one), GameCube.. And so on.

Nothing have caught my eyes like the N64 did and still do. I think its very attractive all around.
The controller the logo and console itself is just very appealing to me. Love you so much N64

Re: Your Favorite Console...in Terms of Hardware Only
I have to admit ... when it came out, I was a little obsessed with the N64 logo ... it kind of blew my mind. (I was 12 or 13)
One thing I forgot to say about Saturn is it's got a lot of charm. The hardware is so obnoxiously wonky I can't help but like it. And I do feel a certain nostalgia for the 3D quads. I kind of like them ... where as poorly rendered triangles, I don't care for those much. Everything just has this charm to it. Obviously the (real) controller is fantastic also. It's got the really nice easy to use expansion slot right up top. Just a charming little beast. Even the CD read noise is charming, as opposed to jarring or aggravating. The menu popup sound even reminds be of the Gorons in Zelda ... what's not to like?

Yeah, that is one handsome console. And the one at the top of my wishlist, right now.Cronozilla wrote:In terms of visual appeal ... I've kind of always liked the 3DO tray model by Panisonic.
