Do you go for perfect runs (all tapes), and if so how many levels can you get through perfectly?

I generally go for 90% on every level and 1st Place in all three competitions. I don't bother with 100% as that last goal (collect all the money) just isn't fun to me. And my take on it is really the money is just there to up your stats or tricks anyway. This time I had 90% on just about every level, except the last couple were at like 60% or so and I was just ready to call it, so I went aheand got the Gold at the BUll Ring to finish it up.

Man THPS2 and THPS for the DC were a big chunk of my gaming at college. Two of my favorite games.

re: NHL2K - my roommate didn't know that scoring trick either and had a ton of 1-0 games also. We had high hopes (hockey! dreamcast!) too. I don't necessarily like games that have a one-trick pony like that anyway. I need to crank up 2K2.

Ditto. I like finding the hidden areas and getting 100%, but you have NO time to explore the area if you plan on collecting all the cash in one run.

After more replaying of the THPS series, I really wish THPS2's outdoor levels were a bit brighter. A minor complaint.

I've been playing a lot of NHL '94 on SEGA CD. Holy cow do the commentators go on forever in pregame. It's kind of awesome and tiring at the same time.

I haven't actually played 2K2 yet. I picked it up after I started to actually collect for the Dreamcast and it's still sealed, so I haven't even popped it in to see how it is. I just assume that it's more polished than the original.

I guess you could do that too.
The goalies are basically set to stop just about everything, though. You can set up passing plays from the left point to the right slot, and nine time out of ten the shot'll still be blocked, just like if you one-timed it from anywhere else. It's obviously not that accurate a sim, so (as far as I know) you can't really aim for the 5-hole or the shelf over the goalie's glove side to get some better options. The defenders are total junk, though, so for real success, all you really have to do is crowd the net and shovel in some trash.

Like I mentioned elsewhere, I beat THPS2 again this week (for the who-knows-how-many time in my life) so I'm planning to do a write-up on that next as soon as I find the time.

Good times on the TR month with that. From never playing to utterly defeating it in a month. Definitely a high point on the achievement scale

i played the hell out of tony hawk pro skater 2x for the original xbox as it was one of the few launch games that i had, i think i had project gotham, halo, tonyhawk, and simpsons roadrage. how does tony hawk 1 and 2 on the dreamcast compare to the xbox's 2x, which i think had both 1 and 2 in one game, also i think it had some bonus videos and you could play as spiderman ( could you play as spidey in the dreamcast versions?)

I actually never played 2X. But yes you could play as Spidey on DC. Also, I'm fairly certain that 2X changed THPS1 by including manuals in it, which were not present in the original DC/PS1 versions of the game. I could be wrong though, as like I said, I didn't play it.

Your pretty much correct. Its not a compilation type game. 2X mashes both installments of the first 2 THPS games into essentially 1 remixed version with tweaked gameplay based on part 2 and additional content if i'm not mistaken. I still prefer the games in their original incarnations so I still prefer the DC version.
