Why do people eat out at McDonalds?

I'm sorry Popo but White Castle is the single worst fast food place I've ever eaten in my life.

I once had some White Castle cheapo tiny frozen burgers that you microwave.

They sucked.

"White Castle Fries only come in one size" was originally "Run's got glasses so he's got four eyes" (or something close to that), as Run DMC gave the lyrics to the Beastie Boys during a tour.

I've had a bad White Castle before, but usually they are on point. The microwave "white castles" are good if you need a white castle fix, but are a fr cry away from the real deal.

If the burger isn't steaming, send it back.

edit* White Castle shouldn't even be mentioned in a McDonalds' thread.

Bread (whole grain)
Salad (organic romaine lettuce, dressing, homemade whole grain croutons)
Green beans (organic)

Total cost = $18.

The time involved is about 15 minutes of easy preparation, and it sits in the oven for 35 minutes.
I think 15 minutes is under-estimating the amount of prep time. For the green beans, are you buying them fresh or frozen? If they're fresh, you usually have to cut the tip/stem off and wash them. Croutons take time to cut up, dry, and season. Mozarella needs to be grated/sliced, etc.

OK the closest White Castle is a 4 hour drive and when I got there I wish I just had the microwave one as I though they were better. The "real" White Castle I though was to greasy.

Then in Boston I made it a point to go there. It's not very good.

Granted, it didn't even look good in the movie.
White Castle is AMAZING. If I ever meet you in real life I'm going to have to burn you as a heretic.
Seems reviews have been mixed on this one, buddy.

Correct. There's the people who think it's awesome, and everyone else who is wrong. It's not my fault that they're wrong.

Why does everyone like In & Out so much? I think they're the most overrated fast-food chain out there. Flimsy little burger patties that you can hardly call "patties". And their vaunted all-natural, self-grown potato fries taste no better then cutting up a potato at home and throwing it in a pot of oil. There's nothing special about that! And the special sauce, is just ketchup and mayonnaise people, it's not special either. If maybe they had some variety on the menu to make up for it, I might eat there for chicken tenders or a taco or something. But nope, cheeseburger or nothing.

BTW, what in the world does this thread have to do with Games As Culture?

IMO, it boils down to marketing. You can find cheap fast food in any fast food chain and they are located at just about every location a McDonalds is.

Why do you think they have cartoon characters? and Happy Meals? This is so every child begs his parents to go where the "clown" is. The name implies you will be happy from eating this meal.

As you become an adult and are able to make decisions on your own, you decide to choose McDonalds because you remember how great it was, and how great the food was.

Eating healthy can be a bit more expensive, but you can pay now or you can pay later!

Eating healthy is not more expensive, just more time consuming...
