In any case, I agree that it's annoying, I don't PREFER UK copies or anything, I was just explaining some of the merits.
Eh. The biggest irony is that the game is Steamworks, so I'd probably never even use the disks.

I found it so incredibly boring that I simply could not be bothered to finish the battle. How many time do I need to sit through meteor? Too many for me to actually sit through the entire battle...

I've tried beating the "Weapons" as well, but the same problem. Way too tedious to be fun, so I never did beat them either. I've beaten Final Fantasy IV and VI multiple times, because those games are awesome. VII... isn't so awesome. It's memorable and enjoyable for the most part, but definitely overrated (I thought so when it was first released, too!).

I prefer Wild Arms to Final Fantasy VII.
I hear ya on this one! The Sephiroth battle was boring as hell, but I'm surprised you didn't finish it just to see the end of the game! I didn't bother with the Weapons either: tedious side quests that exist just for bragging rights do not interest me in the slightest.

I don't get the FFVII obsession. There are so many better PS1 RPGs. For starters, FFIX is better along with Wild Arms 1/2, Lunar 1/2, Breath of Fire III, Grandia, Tales of Destiny, Thousand Arms, and Legend of Legaia.

And if you count remakes, I enjoy Final Fantasy Anthology and Chronicles more than Final Fantasy VII.

Such an overrated game.

Oh, I'd watched one of my friends beat it within a week of it first being released in 1997 or whatever it was. I've seen the ending. My save game on both my PS1 memory card and on the PS3/PSP (downloadable copy) is right at the end when you are in that big glowing pit, so I guess if I am REALLY bored one day I could just beat it. I'd rather play Blazing Lazers on my Turbo, though.

I did beat FFX, but actually skipped FFVIII and IX. I've heard IX is good, but I don't really care. I've beat the Lunar games on both the Sega CD and PS1 (and even Saturn) many times. NOTHING is boring about those games for me. Likewise with Dragon Quest games from IV onwards (except IX, which I find dull). Final Fantasy games are really inconsistent for me. Some are amazing (III, IV and VI), but many are just either kind of good or so-so.

This isn't something to confess! This is something to shout from the rooftops!

Don't add to my problems by pretending my past views are still held in the present. I do not have any patience for that. Feel free to ask me what I think now.

No one worth speaking to, I say.

I'll be Super Sonic Racing forever!

If Capcom pulled it from steam (which is not an unlikely scenario) you'd still have binary data you could use to play it several years from now.

It's not a specific issue, but a principal issue. There's other games that could just as easily be used in the reason.
