Not much of knife guy but I carry a Leatherman multi-tool every where I go. You never know when your going to need a philips, flathead, pliers, or knife. I work in maintenance for a living and you have no idea how many trips to the truck my little Leatherman has saved me. These tools are worth their weight in gold.
This thread reminded me of a video I watched a couple days ago. Its just a bunch of guys stabbing/cutting things with knives to show how good they are. Its actually very entertaining. Here's the link:

Leatherman multitools are fantastic pieces of hardware. I have two of those: the Wingman, which I keep in the car, and the Surge in black.
