Did you think it was unbearably bad?

It certainly has a lot of issues, but I've always liked King's Field and the style of From Software games. This was one of their more crappy games, but it had decent parts to it.

No, I gave up on it, so much of it was unbearably bad. Should I give it another go round? Is it worth my time?

Probably not! With so many great RPGs you shouldn't waste time on mediocre ones. 8)

You have played Disgaea at some point, haven't you, noise?
I'd say disgaea's story is less a story and more a collection of comedy skits. Still an awesome game though.

^ Not to mention that you can play Disgaea for fucking ever. I really liked that game until I got the total shaft in it and ended up screwing myself out of the best weapon in the game.

Its weird, for how much I enjoyed playing Disgaea, I've never had an urge to try one of the sequels or extreamly similar srpgs.

As someone who only has time to play games 1-1.5 hours a day, Disgaea would be way too much of a time sink for me. Decent games, I just can't finish them.

I was thinking more about bad RPGs again today and I can't believe I forgot to mention Brandish in my initial post. It's virtually unplayable, the controls are MUTILATED. It's difficult to explain, but anyone who's ever played it knows exactly what I'm talking about. The sequel is pretty poor as well, I've never tried the third and fourth installments...

I remember Brandish. I'd say thata a bad one.

How about the "rpg" part of Eirghiez?

Isn't Brandish the one that rotates the view around like a mother fucker every time you change direction? If so, I agree in calling it a mutilated unplayable mess.

I never played Brandish... and I definitely didn't know they made sequels of it.

It's too bad if the rotating environment destroyed the gameplay though. I liked that aspect in Contra III (overhead levels). It could've made a decent RPG if it was done right.

That's almost more of a Rogue-like, which I never take opinions of seriously. Most people don't seem to like rogues all that much, unless it's a carbon copy of Diablo, which is really a genre unto itself, IMO. Then again, maybe that falls into the Diablo category, I haven't played the quest part of Ergeiz much (I don't remember hating though).

I don't think that's too weird. Sometimes one game is enough to satisfy.
