Anyone can sell a physical object. They don't even need a store. Even if all the bookstores in the world closed today, people would still be selling and buying books.

Even if the game is rereleased the PSN version will still be gone.

Yes everything decays. But DLC has intentionally accelerated decay with restrictions preventing us from doing much of anything to preserve it.
But with a downloaded game there basically is no aftermarket.

I don't think a downloaded DRM'd game is going to last as long as physical game either, which is another troubling difference.
Dinner X and Inazuma arguments are as clear as can be... whats the confusion Noise... between Digital content and physical Media...?

I'm thinking you'll be able to play DL only games in the future by way of cracked/patched/hacked files. As long as a guy somewhere finds out how to rip/save/crack/and play a DLC and uploads it on the net, it'll be around.

I mean, even now you can pirate games from Wii Ware/VC and install DLC content on pirated PC games. The only thing preventing majority of users from taking advantage of the availability is that it will not let you get online/or turn your legit copy into a pirated one (which will no longer be problems in the future, when support has been discontinued).

As to the lifespan of digital vs physical copies: which is harder these days, finding and downloading an ISO of Radiant Silvergun or finding and buying an actual disc?

no confusion. I know that physical media and digital media are different. But when the complaint is "it might not last forever," well... they're not so different.

I have books from the 18th century. Are you going to tell me that PSN games will last anywhere near that long?

But unfortunately there is a difference. You don't physically own a digital title. So your very limited to what you can to with something you paid for ultimately, You can't resell it, lend it to a friend etc. etc.

Yup, Yup. With a physical copy of a game, You have way more ways and self powered to make sure your game will last for as long as you care for it. The same cannot be said for digital content unfortunately... There are more factors that are out of ones control to make sure it lasts for as long as possible...

how do I not own it? I have PSN games right now on 2 PS3's and a PSP. If I were to buy other consoles, I could transfer them. I don't really get it. As long as those consoles are alive, I certainly do own them.

Ok! Can you sell your Digital games it if you want to? Can you lend it to a friend (without lending your entire console)?
You said it yourself buddy! " As long as those consoles are alive, you certainly do own them"
I cannot say the same if my PS2 console, or my Dreamcast or my SNES dies... I still get to Keep my games and have ownership of them, They are safe and still in my possesion. And that is a wonderful thing to say at the end of the day!

Alright, Noise, you like DLC. We get it. Enjoy you downloaded games. But please read peoples post again "You don't physically own a digital title" was stated not that you don't own it at all.

To the rest quit trying to convince him otherwise.
