I just recently got
this, so I made a couple of short songs to test it out. Nothing special, but kinda catchy! If any one cares to listen...
Song 1:
Tascam GrooveI took two sample drum beats that came with my MIDI notation software, strung them together and made a few minor tweaks. Other than that, it's just bass and guitar direct into the Tascam. With the exception of the guitar distortion in the mid section, all of the tracks are dry (no EQ, no effects, etc). The only thing I did is give that clean guitar a little stereo imagery to make it pop. [edit: nevermind, I forgot this upload was mono] It's mostly improvised, and I think all of the tracks were first takes, so mistakes and timing errors are included. But I don't think it's too bad for the short amount of time I spent on it. In fact, I think it's kinda catchy, I particularly like the mid section.
Song 2:
Tooth AcheYeah, I love coming up with working titles. I enjoy it more than coming up with permanent titles! This song is the same deal as above, I wanted to mess around with my new toy a little more. I just grabbed some free sample drum midis from the Internet and strung them together like before. This song is entirely improvised. I did a light amount of EQ'ing and whatnot, but nothing crazy. Again, nothing special but it kinda gets stuck in your head.

My band Salvo posted a new song yesterday:
http://www.reverbnation.com/play_now/12698308This recording was done entirely in our jam room with borrowed equipment, and none of us really knew what we were doing. someone else mastered it and we had a sizeable amount of help, but I'm very happy with how it came out considering. I recorded 7 drum tracks and as soon as I got done our module died, so we had to borrow one and get everything done really quickly, and I had to do the drums again

I wish we'd had more time to get everything super super smooth, but I'm very happy with how it came out.
We just signed a deal with a management company and will be coming down to Mass next month and will be all over new england this summer, so anyone in new england whos a metal head should check it out and come see us if we're playing close to you!

I know everyone is posting their bands, but I am pretty stoked about this review.
http://www.punknews.org/review/11029I'm really proud of this record, (although I've changed a few drum part since) and I'm glad it's getting all [mostly]positive reviews across the board (punknews being the biggest). I've worked on so many musical projects throughout my entire life, but most of it never gets reviewed.

ay cool man! good for you

there are many kind words in that review.. where can I hear this "...intricate, angular and musically less than straightforward... ...impressive tangential changes musically, making this an extremely listenable piece of work." ??

Congrats on the review dude.
The Kevin Seconds and Kepi Ghoulie show finally happened and it was a blast. I'm glad that I got to play a show with those guys.

(click to go to page)Okay, well I guess I'll actually post something. I'm tempted to post one of my many mashups but instead I'll start with this little original thing I did.
