Which Version Is Best?

Saturn? I love the Saturn D-Pad even more than the Playstation ones. Wavebird D-Pad is craptastic.

Here's a fun one: I am thinking about a run through Megaman 8 again. I have it for the PSX, PS2, Saturn, and Gamecube.

Can anyone guess which one I will choose?

I can't remember which consoles you're in to, so... I guess Saturn.

Original Resident Evil? I always hear a lot about it on the PS1 and the Gamecube remake, but I'm curious if the Saturn version is worth picking up? If not, which would be best? After playing and enjoying a bit of Resident Evil 2, I'm starting to have some interest in playing the first one.

The original PS1 game and the Gamecube remake are almost completely different games. Both deserve a play though. If you're liking RE 2, then go for the PS1 (any of them), Saturn, or PC version first. Then treat yourself to the GC remake.

The Saturn version has some cool extra stuff not in the PS1 version (not sure about PC):

The Sega Saturn version added an unlockable Battle Game minigame in which the player must traverse through a series of rooms from the main game and eliminate all enemies within them with the weapons selected by the player. This minigame features two exclusive enemies not in the main game: a zombie version of Wesker and a gold-colored Tyrant. The player's performance is graded at the end of the minigame. The Saturn version also features exclusive enemy monsters, such as a re-skinned breed of Hunters known as Ticks and a second Tyrant prior to the game's final battle. Exclusive outfits for Jill and Chris were added as well.

Since Im getting a 32X, Id like to know which multiplatform games are worth on it.

32X CD games
Night Trap (Will buy it)
Fahrenheit (Sounds really boring, but its good to know just in case)
Corpse Killer (Will buy it)
Supreme Warrior (Undecided)
Slam City with Scottie Pippen (Wont buy it unless I get it dirt cheap)

If the game is better on 3DO or almost identical to Sega CD version and Sega CD version is cheaper, I rather have the superioir 3DO or cheaper Sega CD version. I wont mind paying a little extra for 32X CD version if its really worth it.

Multiplatform 32X games I might be intrested in

Pitfall the Mayan adventure (Own the Mega CD version, Im under the impression that PC and Sega/Mega CD version is best due to sound quality of CD). Id like to know if this or Jaguar version is improvement over Mega CD version.

Yeah I was thinking I'd like to play the actual original one first, but the Gamecube remake will definitely be in the back of my mind. It just sounds great from what I've heard. I'd really like to get it for the Saturn, since I wouldn't mind beefing up my Saturn collection in the process, but I'm curious if it's drastically inferior when it comes to graphics.

Actually, yeah. Megaman 8 on the Saturn is the definitive version of the game. The PSX version got nerfed hardcore and, despite that, is the template of the game included in the compilation.

Certain things (like the clock) look terrible in the Saturn version. Also, all scenes with water use dithering due to the Saturn's inability to do transparency without lots of work. The change in resolution also makes the Saturn version look a bit squished. The character models seem a little less... segmented(?) in the Saturn version though. I'd take the higher resolution and proper aspect personally.

Extreme is an updated version of Primal Fury. Go with Extreme, its pretty much got everything Primal has and more. But I have both as I love the series.

Having my bias and all, I'd say DC

But only because I have the best RE3 port of all time on the DC. Pick your costume right away out of 8 choices? Sign me up!
