Well the PSP version is the arcade version, but yes, it's extremely difficult.

I die halfway thorugh Gradius III first stage so I guess I'm the noob here. Arcade version but it isn't really that hard I guess.

I'm bad at shupms so yeah.

In Europe it is, check the cover on that gamefaqs link. But anyway, who cares, what's important is that I do have Gokujo after all, you got me worried for a moment there :P Should give it a try soon, since I'm petty much done with Gradius.
The Saturn/PS1 compilation came out in Europe?

The Saturn one definetely did. Pretty sure PS1 did too.

We also got the NES Parodius game, a SNES one and a game boy one. The game boy one was released in colour on Konami Game Boy Collection Volume 2, which was japan and europe only too.

How does Gradius III on VC play, I know it is the SNES version, but does it play 'perfectly' emulated on the Wii?

It seems to me that Gradius III and Astro Warrior have something in common: Once you die and lose all your power-ups; it is virtually impossible to continue on.

This is a basic rule in numerous shmups.

I am playing the psp gradius collection and I can't even beat the first level with 9 lives on normal difficulty. my biggest issues with the game so far are that I have trouble seeing my bullets with the starting gun and the ship movements feel a little choppy when you get a couple speed boosts. i tend to move much further than I intend to. I have not been able to make it to the first boss powered up. this game is brutal! but I don't play many shmups. (except for Galaga)
