I need a new cell phone = frustration! I hate cell phones!

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

The new Blackberry Passport looks pretty nice.

I'd jump on it quick if I was you, Ziggy. This might be the swan song for Blackberry with QWERTY.

Just got a Blackberry Classic !!!!

I don't know when this came out, but I would have gotten it day 1.

It's * amazing * to say the least.

The specs are nothing to sneeze at. It's about the same size as my LG Android, but a little thinner. The keyboard feels GREAT! I'm a little rusty with typing on it, but I can still type a LOT faster on it than my Android. I'm sure in no time I'll get back to being as speedy as I once was with it.

Unlike my old BB, this has a touch screen. For a lot of things, you can use the track pad OR touch screen to navigate and select. So, it's really the best of both worlds. The only down side is that it's a square screen. The Android is nice because you can turn it sideways for 16:9 videos. But, I don't often watch videos on my cell phone. The trade off for the physical keyboard is more than worth it.

It was delivered last night, so I only had time to mess around with it for 15 minutes. But already, I'm very impressed with the new BB OS. It MUCH more intuitive than Android and IOS. And from what I've messed around with so far, the stock apps are so much better than Android. I know that you can download better apps, but it's nice that the basic apps that come with the BB don't have to be replaced with something better.

I was afraid to get a BB for a while because of the app selection. Android and IOS dominate the market, so you can find ANY app on those devices. Well, the BB OS now has the BB app market as well as Android apps from the Amazon App Store. App selection is no longer a concern.

I'm currently looking to start up a small business, and I needed to get a new phone line. When I found out the BB Classic exists, there was no second guessing what phone I should get. The only thing that sucks is I wish I had the money to buy two of them (one for the business line and one to replace my Android I use for my personal line) so I don't have to use an Android anymore.

I just use tracfone since I'm not a big phone guy. That being said I hate their cheapy touch screen phones and really miss my old slide phone which crapped out on me. Currently using the ZTE Valet and it is a hunk of junk touch screen is way to sensitive and is prone to smears which drives it crazy  . It also has a very touchy sleep mode at times and seems to enjoy sleeping during calls which makes it extremely hard to hang up at the end of a conversation without fumbling around for a few seconds trying to get it to wake up so you can hit the in software end call button. At the end of a call I usually have to hit the power button to get back to the locked screen and input my pin before hanging up otherwise the screen stays black and unresponsive to touch :P.

The Blackberry Classic keeps the classic Blackberry buttons. So there's a dedicated end call button. A physical button.

Still going strong since 2009. Love my old easy to fit in the pocket phone; older phones data can be easily be backed up with TK Explorer.

That's basically what I've wanted since Android phones first started dominating the market. I always bitched that no one makes an Android phone with a decent QWERTY keyboard. I know that early in the Android years these phones actually existed, but the keyboards on them all sucked majorly. Blackberry always had the best keyboards, second only to real keyboards.

Hopefully it's not too expensive when it comes out, I'd definitely be interested in getting one for personal use. Thanks for the heads up!

You're Welcome.

My current phone is an NEC Terrain.

That's right, the same company that made the TurboGrafx-16 made my cell phone. Much like the TG16, my phone has a neat feature set, but plenty of compromises to go along with it. This is a "tough phone" so it's water-resistant, drop-proof, dust-proof, et cetera. It has a real FM radio built in, which is important to me because I work in the radio industry. It has a real QWERTY keypad instead of touchscreen typing. I have to admit the camera is pretty good for a cell phone camera.

Unfortunately, the NEC terrain can only get service through AT&T or its subsidiaries. I'm using gophone. I understand cricket wireless also does the job. The operating system is Android 4.0 which cannot be updated or rooted. Believe me; I've looked into it. NEC no longer supports this beast of a phone, so I do not expect them to come out with a software update soon or ever. That's a shame because the software is a little buggier than I'd like. If I don't restart every other day, I will expect to see applications crash.

It's a mixed bag of compromises, but it fills a niche so few other phones are currently filling.

Is this one of the meats you can find at Arby's? They have the meats, you know, or so they say.
