On the bright side for you Kansas supporters, you can now route for Syracuse!

Also - Luke: West Virginia? Really?!

Allright, Day 3 brought a whole new batch of upsets (which ended many of our dreams of victory in the pool...thanks Kansas). The standings thus far:

Luke: 320
Seven0sevin: 280
Koopin_Krackerz: 270
Chupon: 270
dsheinem: 260

Even though Seven and myself are 2nd and 3rd, we are really out barring any more big upsets due to the fact we both picked Kansas to win it all.

Day 4. A New Beginning. The Last Day Of The First Round. Last Chance To Make The Sweet Sixteen. Another Chance Of Upsets. Another Chance To Rip Up Brackets. Another Chance For Tears...

^ I don't know who else might share my opinion, but Kansas didn't play a solid game. It seemed they counted on making every shot, and defense was a distant thought in their game strategy. Sure, they had some blocks and rebounds, but not as much as they should have.
All relative to the teams I've watched them play though.

The biggest thing that killed Kansas was that they were not patient on offense at all. They took a lot of terrible shots (especially not open three's) and didn't run offensive sets. Their press almost got them back in it, but when you take bad shots, don't rebound, and don't make free throws you will more than likely lose. Northern Iowa was the better team yesterday and deserved the win.

Well, that wraps up a crazy first weekend. One of the better I've seen since 2004. Definitely a lot of surprises (UNI?, Cornell?, Saint Mary's?) and good games. The standings after the first weekend are:

Luke: 420
Koopin_Krackerz: 370
Chupon: 370
Seven0sevin: 360
dsheinem: 340

Chupon has the highest possible points remaining followed by dsheinem and Luke so it is possible for someone to finally take out Luke's lead that he has had the entire weekend. Looking forward to Thursday!

I think I'm really gonna need Kentucky to win next round if I'm going to pull this off.

I've rarely sat in last place this late but still felt so confident in winning the whole thing...

I'm looking forward to watching games between panels next weekend at PAX East!

Ehh, it's boring seeing the same person leading the entire time. I want to see it get interesting again...even though it doesn't really involve me anymore.
