Fantastic! System shut, barely, but shut! Portable is working fine, been tested. I'm going to paint the four screw heads red so they integrate with the case colours, and also make a couple of decals and put them in position. Here is a pic showing the case shut, as below.

Technically, the project is completed now; however I need to remake the multi-function port to make it small, and edit all the mini videos for video log #20 and compile into one under 10 minutes (like the other videos).

I'll then extract some parts from the videos and upload them here and on the forum, generic mini sections.

Then, i'll do some final testing before making a video of the portable working in full swing, showing various games being played, as well as a walkaround for the system too.

All this should be done by the end of the week!

So, two more updates to come onto this thread - video log #20 (when edited, compiled and added to it), then final video in the next days.

Video 20 uploaded!

This is the last video in the series. Covers more aspects, finally case closing.

The next video will be demonstrating the system working and playing games; also will show "final touches" made to the syste after the above video.

Sweet man! Very sweet! One question, though. Why did you decide to locate the C-buttons below A&B instead of above? I would think having them above would most closely mimic the original controller layout.

The "C" buttons feel as easy to use above or below the "A" and "B"; and there was more space in the case for them to go underneath!

I intend to play the following games in the demo video: Doom 64 (shows memory card working), Diddy Kong Racing (shows rumble pack working), Pokemon Puzzle League (good for the D-pad) and maybe one other game too. Not decided yet.

Going to use a little filler for where the case halves meet, paint the screws red and make the multi-function port again. After all that, will make the final video demo. In the last video (#20) I turned system on for a couple of seconds to prove it works; I need to stress test the system with recharged batteries and see how long they last for, also how well the system reacts to heat after being left on for a while.

In other words, not "rushing out" the last video!

How the HELL have I missed this topic until now?! I was actually thinking to myself recently, "I wonder what kind of mod bacteria is up to..."

Little did I know you have already completed one! I'll have to go back and watch all of the logs. That really is a nice looking handheld that you've managed to create!

Thanks!

I've been working on it for 4 months now, so quite a project!

After finishing this, I have a couple of GP2x mods to do, after that will be on my mega multi-integrated system project then.
