I find this whole DS versus PSP thread to be an interesting debate but pointless. I like all handhelds and consoles. They all have their pluses and minuses. They are both cool devices and I'm glad that I have them. If I had to choose just one, I would lean towards the DS Lite because of the larger game library and the clamshell design.

We're not really debating that.

This is not part of the previous discussion, but an honest question.

What can you do on 2 small screens that couldn't be done on a larger one of equal or greater resolution? (Assuming proper aspect ratio to fit both on it)
From an aesthetic perspective if you simulated the DS two screen format by just dividing the same sized large screen in half it doesn't look as good.
I wasn't going to argue with that since it was purely subjective.

Till I saw this video

Removal of the gap entirely on a single monitor looks like it would improve the aesthetic value of some games.

Though I agree it wouldn't benefit some, and would actually mess up the user in games that actually handle the gap as extra space between them

Agreed. Some games just use both screens as half of the playing area. And most that do that do a poor job of it. Sonic Rush did it right; it tried to keep you on one screen at a time and only transitioned when you were going fast enough. Metroid Prime Pinball also did a good job, as they accounted for the gap and designed the tables well so the gap didn't hide anything important. I've tried a few shooters that don't account for the gap and it really throws you off.

But what I was arguing is that games that use the second screen to display something different from the first wouldn't look as good if you did both screens stacked on a single display.

I'm surprised Konami didn't make a Silent Scope game for DS. There's a GBA one...
