I guess I really shouldn't come down hard on someone for wanting those games. I mean, the only reason I want an Xbox 360 is Dead Rising. =P Actually, most of the games I want for the 360 are Japan Only, and I don't wanna import a 360 only to have it die 3-6 months later with no way to return it.
We all have our quirks I guess.
For Halo 3, not enough was done to make it different from Halo 2 (In fact, I though it was Halo 2 when I saw a bunch of people playing it at a gaming cafe). Plus, no one ever wants to play Halo 2 the real man's way, (Dark Arctic stage, swords only, no radar.) I doubt the Halo 3 boys are any different.
Soul Calibur 4 suffers from lack of balance and a lack of replay value; why they would eliminate Chronicles of the Sword is completely beyond me.
Devil May Cry 4... is just not as good as 1 or 3, and it gets very repetitive when you have to go through the same parts multiple times (Damn dice).
Resident Evil 5 managed to take a dump all over RE4's Diablo-style inventory system by having an asinine "Everything's the same size" slots system, with the only items able to stack being ammo. And lets not get us started on the NPC 'partner', who uses up herbs faster than Jay and Silent Bob.

Re: Wii Sales Concerns
Those are all games that would make their way into my library if I had the system (you can't say no to $10 brand new Soul Calibur 4 at best buy), but not system sellers. Most likely I'll just need to sit down on a friend's 360 with a game like Fallout 3 or Fable II or something and get drawn in.
Re: Wii Sales Concerns
I don't know if it's just me, but while I'd like to get a 360 or PS3 in the future, I'm perfectly happy with my Wii I got a month or two ago. Finals have cut into my game time, but I've got plenty to dig into over the vacation.
Not even counting the big name Nintendo franchises (the Mario/Wario, Zelda, Metroid type games), there's plenty out there I'm interested in.
No More Heroes, MadWorld, Zak & Wiki, ExciteBots, No More Heroes, Blast Works, the numerous "lightgun" games (HotD series, Umbrella Chronicles, Ghost Squad), the Sam & Max: Season 1 port (my PC is crap when it comes to newer computer games, so this is appreciated), Boom Blox, and the "Wii-Made" RE4 are all games I'm eager to play or have already enjoyed a bunch.
Plenty more on the way too. Muramasa: The Demon Blade, Little King's Story, NMH 2, Sin & Punishment 2, Silent Hill Remake (looks amazing, and seems to take advantage of the Wii controls in ways more games should), A Boy and His Blob, The Conduit, Cursed Mountain, and Monster Hunter 3
WiiWare is chock full of great stuff too. Maybe not as many Triple A classics as the XBLA, but remakes of Tetris & Dr. Mario, World of Goo, the Strong Bad games, LostWinds (which is set to have a sequel), and the Toki Tori remake are all aces in my book. Also, I DESPERATELY want that Cave Story port that's should be out any day now.
A lot of people gripe about the Wii's lacking online features... and while I understand and admit the whole friend code thing is not very intuitive, it's not a big deal for me because I just don't care that much about online play unless it's with a select group of friends. 360 has a great online setup, but every time I've tried to play I either get stuck with idiots or take on pros who murder me. I just don't have fun with these online heavy games, and I'm not a big multiplayer guy.
So yeah, while there's 360 and PS3 games out there I'd love to play, and there's stuff about the Wii that DOES suck badly, I can't get behind the Wii bashing because it fills my needs and wants so well, and really, isn't that what a good game console should do?

I wanted to be a Teminator but they require you have an armored hyperalloy skeleton and mine's mostly recycled truck tires.

I'm won't deny that the Wii has a good line-up of games, but you are just now getting into the system. I got the system when it launched - and from November 19, 2006 to March 1, 2008 - it was the only next-gen system I had.
You have the luck of being able to catch up on all the titles that came out back then; it's like a floodgate holding back a torrent of great games has come crashing down. But I was there from the beginning, and it was more like a water-faucet that would, on occasion, leak out tiny drops of good games.
Once I got a PS3, I never turned on the Wii again. My roommates and friends easily used the Wii 10x as much as I did. I remember getting Mario Kart, hoping that maybe this would get me back into the Wii, but I only played one track before I decided that I just wasn't feeling it. In fact, before I got a PS3, I was actually playing my PS2 more than the Wii, thanks to offerings like Persona 3, King of Fighters XI and Yakuza 2.
I will tell you that the best game to get for the Wii is Metroid Prime 3, and sadly, no other Wii game has ever come close to being as good. The Wii tried to get me, with games like Baroque, Castle of Shikigami III and Guilty Gear XX Accent Core, but they failed to impress me.
If you are looking for Wii games, as soon as I've sold my Wii to my friend, I'll post the rest of my games up and at least you can enjoy them. (I've just gotta let him get first pick.)

Couldn't you say that getting the PS3 when you did was also opening a floodgate of great games?
Re: Wii Sales Concerns
Yeah, you could say that, but in the one and a half year I exclusively owned a Wii, I only had about 15 games - and I'd say about 5 of those were gifts from family members who didn't have any idea what to give me, like Rayman: Raving Rabbids and Cooking Mama - plus a few VC games. In the year that I've owned a PS3, I've come to own about 25 games, plus a bunch of PSN games that I can't get anywhere else.
The fact that anything made for the Xbox 360 can be ported to the PS3 - and vise versa - is a big advantage when you want quality and quantity. Ya can't really port PS3/X360 games to the Wii (without it ending up like this).
The Wii does have the best first-party content, but Nintendo sure does take their dear sweet time to release new stuff. Nintendo could seriously have benefited from embracing the online network mentality. Imagine if they, like Capcom, made a downloadable Super Mario Bros 4, using NES style graphics? Or made a new downloadable Zelda game that uses the SNES graphics? A SNES-style Metroid 4? Not only would these have been awesome, they also would have taken them very little time and money to create, holding us over for the next real Mario, Zelda and Metroid games.

I'm truly surprised they haven't done this. I don't think it's coming though. For one, they've really only done this one time that I can think of on a physical media -- New SMB. And that was so popular, that they'd probably go the route of releasing another game on physical media for $35 rather than a DL for $10. I guess it could happen. And the Internet would explode.
I'd really like to see Metroid 5 in 2D as a downloadable game. I'd take with SNES graphics or a fresh look, either one.
Re: Wii Sales Concerns
I would love to see new 8 bit or 16 bit games a la Mega Man 9.
Re: Wii Sales Concerns
Ok in my random googlings when looking for info that doesn’t seem to exist I come across interesting websites. So when looking for low button count games for my mame cabinet, I came across several sites for physically disabled gamers. These guys fight all odds to play the games that we easily enjoy. And what system came out and made it very easy for most of them to play? That’s right the Wii. Suddenly they only needed one functioning hand to play games and well it got me thinking. We often use our labels of casual and hardcore, but I don’t think anyone is more hardcore than the disabled gamers. If you can beat games with only a few functioning fingers, that is the most extreme hardcore there is, no comparison.
So even if general population view the Wii as a passing fad, know that it made a difference in a lot of peoples lives. I know many of you don’t give two shits about other people, but that means a lot to some of us.
