Straczynski's run had/has a female Loki.

Down on the Avengers? No, not at all. The reviews are overwhelming positive.

The trailers suggest that Loki is the main villain, but that's just two minutes of a two hour movie. The Beta Ray Bill army could be just the beginning for all I know.

I do have a strong feeling that there will be something in the end to leave the Avengers to temporarily part ways. With Iron Man 3 days away from production and Cap 2 in the works, there has to be an argument. More than likely it will stem from Iron Man not getting the respect he wants from Cap, who knew and fought alongside Tony's Father. That's all speculation though. For all I know it could go the classic route where the Hulk goes berserk and the Avengers find themselves fighting him.

I enjoyed it
It's enjoyable as long as you think it's going somewhere. But it doesn't. Even the director himself admits that he had no idea where he was going with the movie. WTF!?...

I can enjoy a movie with an open ending or a movie that is up for interpretation. I watched Stanley Kubrick's 2001: a space odyssey yesterday for the first time, and although it's not my favourite Kubrick film, I can still appreciate it for many reasons, both visual and interpretative. For instance, the way Kubrick handled the flash forward to the future is simply brilliant. But Fear X is going nowhere, has no vision, and is basically a mess...

Another stinker I saw recently was The Odds. Do not watch this if you're older than 14. A thriller about gambling with teens that try to act like adults = FAIL...

Yeah, I hate Straczynski. IMO, he ruined Spider-Man for years, and it sounds like he's done no better with Thor.

I can't argue that the entire "It's all magic" excuse wasn't crap.

Speaking of Akira...

Also, Leo in Django Unchained

I've seen both the original Django (one of Tarantino's favorite movies) and Miike's Sukiyaki Western Django (which Tarantino has a cameo in) so it should be interesting to see how this turns out.

I've really been wanting to she Unchained since I heard about it. From the early stuff I've heard, it has a very deep controversy of slavery while staying clear on all 3 sides. I'll explain the 3 thing if ya'll want, its kind of hard to explain.

Battle Royale
Very excellent. Only heard of it because of all the people claiming that it was ripped off by The Hunger Games, and that makes Hunger Game's existence justified. I'm going to have to get some of my HG fangirls to sit down and see this one.

A few of my friends saw an advanced viewing of THE AVENGERS last night. Screw those guys.

I re-watched NICK OF TIME last night. If you're not familiar with the film, it stars Johnny Depp as a Father whose daughter has been kidnapped by Christopher Walken and some chick from a bunch of tv movies. The only way to get Depp's daughter back is by killing a senator...or was she a governor?...or Mayor? Let's just go with "government official".

The movie takes place in real time (definitely not shot in real time), which seems gimmicky, but it works as a plot device. Expect some laughs that weren't written in the movie, as the acting isn't the best. Walken is playing another crazy Walken role, Depp is a blank slate, and there is a shoe shiner who must have graduated from the Tori Spelling School of Acting.

But that aside it's a fun time with a few intense scenes. If you like crazy Walken, give this a go.

HICK red band trailer

HICK is not going to be your typical "date" movie, and if HICK is anything like the novel there will be plenty of walk outs. As far as trailers go, this one exceeds at grabbing your attention.

Now everyone go and see RAID:THE REDEMPTION before it leaves theaters.
