I found STALKER : Clear Sky to be quite a good game, and much better than Call of Pripyat, which was packed full of great ideas but felt like a lightweight expansion pack...

Admittedly, I don't think it's a great game at all. I just feel like it got way more than its fair share of hate, and that was more due to its unfortunate timing of being released so close to Sonic Mania. I still enjoyed it for what it was (though there were very frustrating parts) You can extend this opinion to most 3D Sonic games, to be honest. I prefer the sidescrollers, but I still just like them. I even enjoyed '06, but only for it being gloriously, exquisitely terrible, in this case.
I agree. It wasn't as good as Generations or Colors, but overall it was a fun game The gameplay was decent. Levels were just a bit too short and the design was lackluster for a lot of the game, but I enjoyed it regardless. The budget price point should have given away to people that the game wouldn't live up to expectations.

I enjoy 3D Sonic too though. I thought Lost World was underrated as hell, for example.

Ps4 God of war is boring, bought it at release, and I struggle to motivate myself to play it, I am still pretty early into it but I just can't motivate myself to turn it on. This is my second week long vacation this month, I played tons of games through both vacations and just have no motivation to play it.

I really want to like it, GOW is one of my favorite game series, I love Norse mythology, I took my honeymoon in Iceland and am not at all opposed to the idea of kratos having a son. But there is just a lot of senseless walking which slows the pace of the game way down and combat is not nearly as fun as it was in the other games.

Mega Man X6 rules, two thumbs up. Been a fan since its release and replaying X1-X6 again on the Legacy Collection, yep I still dig it.

I'll just randomly put out there that Final Fantasy has been in a downward spiral for the most part post FF6. There have been a select very few releases that didn't stick to high hell, but if you go by FF square-enix lovers outside of the MMOs and FF13s linearity there's just not much complaining.

They also used to build the RPG games based on your ability to tackle a boss or demi-boss level random monster using multiple tactics for better or dragged out worse but late in FF10 forward that changed. Now you have to basically read up, youtube, or buy a guide because only one. maybe 2 if lucky. things work, so if you don't have that right job, class, and ability armed it's a lost cause where the blowback from hitting is death or close enough the next turn finishes it. (It drove me to other franchises like Tales of, DQ, etc instead.)

I think FF lovers complain the most about FF as a whole. Most people haven't played the games or just don't care

Not sure I agree on the limited tactics thing, unless you are specifically talking about the Superbosses (In which case, they've always been this way, everyone beats Shinryu in FF5 the same way, and he's bullshit RNG otherwise). But you can pretty much do whatever you want in 10, 12, and 15.

13 is a bit different, moreso in that there just aren't that many options in the first place, but you still have flexibility within the system to pick when you want to go for breaks (And who with), if/when you want to play defensive, etc. Its just actually hard in its main game, unlike most of the series, so you do feel pressured to do something that is actually effective, whereas in most FF games you can kinda just hit random commands and still win

After carefully putting more thought into it a week later or so...

Yeah, X6 was probably my second favorite with this marathon this time around. 8)

X5 was probably my least favorite this time yet it was the one I was the most excited about it. Didn't land very well this time though... Aila, auto scrolling levels, orbital cannon BS RNG, awful boss/item leveling system, TRIPLE backtracking attack (had to play some levels three times to get all the items), lame virus gimmick, eyesore Sigma levels, etc. Still one of my favorite OST's though.

X6 fixed everything and is the ultimate conclusion and challenge for series veterans, fitting for the finale of the mainline 2D console releases of the series up to that point. And Gate is legit one of the coolest villains, the story was cooler than I remembered even if contradicts X5, but they all contradict themselves repeatedly after X2 haha.

Full X6 review here.
