Random Gaming Thoughts
Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I know it's not a fair comparison. I was just showing him that's sold more so far.

you want to go the hardcore route or casual?DannyMcGee wrote:I'm worrying way too much about what order to play the Fire Emblem games in.
Portable or console?
Gameboy advance games are hard and tricky. You know your guy is going to die so you quickly shut it off. When you turn the GBA on again, it remembers your spot and the character still dies. You'll be playing lots of levels over again to figure out the right tactics to beat it.
Do you have the time to play Fire emblem on TV? The gamecube and Wii games like many RPGs take time. And that whole permadeath thing can get in the way if you dont like your favorite character dying.
The only one that has become simpler, but dont take that wrong; is the Awakening for 3DS. Casual mode still brings out the challenges. Your characters will die, but at least they come back again for the next round.
You feel comfortable enough when you beat the game in casual mode and replay it; you'll play in normal mode.
and the game will kick your butt!
its still fun though and I recommend you try it.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
Thanks for the advice! I've started on it now, and I've already managed to get three of the games, I just haven't started on them just yet. I'm starting with the first one just titled Fire Emblem for the GBA, then I'm going to play the other GBA fire emblem, which I have on my 3DS, then Path of Radience, then Awakening. It just took me way to long to figure it out. And yeah, it's going to be hard to make it through the game with no deaths, that's just the kind of thing that will drive me crazy if I let a character actually die.flojocabron wrote: you want to go the hardcore route or casual?

Is the Xbox 1 lagging behind Wii-U in terms of sales? I never heard that before.

That doesn't really take into account that the Wii-U is one year older though, so the X1 isn't really doing worse than the Wii-U sales wise.
Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I think it would be a good idea for Nintendo to drop the price on the Wii u going into the holiday season but I don't think it'll happen. Honestly I think they won't drop the price until next year and are going to bank on their IP's to push consoles for the holiday this year.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
There's actually three GBA Fire Emblem games. This is the order:DannyMcGee wrote:I'm starting with the first one just titled Fire Emblem for the GBA, then I'm going to play the other GBA fire emblem
Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade AKA Sword Of Seals 2002
Fire Emblem 2003
Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones 2005
2002's "Binding Blade" was a Japanese only release, but you can find it fan translated in English and play on an emulator. The 2003 release you were considering playing first is actually a prequel to this game.
I don't recommend playing Binding Blade first though. That game is difficulty as bloody hell and kicked my ass so hard I quit playing it 85% of the way through. If you do play it, focus as much as you can on upgrading your wizards' distant offense and defense support skills. Otherwise you'll end up like me with a team of awesome melee fighters who became wholly impotent in the end game, due to sleep casting enemy wizards spamming spells from three screens away.
PLAY KING'S FIELD.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
Ah, thanks for the heads up! That sounds like some pretty crappy tactics on the game's part. It reminds me of Grim Grimoire with the stupid cat wizards, that manage to waltz in and stay alive for just long enough to put that dragon you've spent 10 minuets and all of your resources summoning to sleep for another good five minuets.Exhuminator wrote: There's actually three GBA Fire Emblem games. Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
PAL eShop had Mega Man games on VC at half price.
Whoops, guess I've just added the first 6 Mega Man games to my backlog...

I hope they aren't the lame slow versions they had on the Wii shop.alienjesus wrote:PAL eShop had Mega Man games on VC at half price.
