Ping em in the eye with an arrow and then chop of all of their legs. Ping em again and then finish em off with the Master Sword! Just like spiders in real life.Sarge wrote:Yeah, the Master Sword is super useful when you're taking on the bots in Hyrule Field. It lights up when you're near one (which means you got the boost to 60), and it takes them down pretty fast. You're going to want to kill a bunch of them if you want to get/upgrade the ancient armor set, anyway.

Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.

I went with deflect the laser into their eye before chopping off the legs. It saves on the arrow.

Ooh, that's an idea. Not sure why I didn't think of that, given the description for the Guardian Shields. Seems like it'd be easier to get a sure hit, too.
Re: Zelda Breath of the Wild - Wii U vs. Switch
Unless you deflect with a parry, the Guardian shields reflect beams in a random direction. It sometimes works if you are really close but I never had much success. On top of that, they are only good for one or two reflects before they break.
I try to sneak up on them and chop off a leg. That disorients them enough to chop off the other legs. After all the legs are gone, you can go to town on them as long as the eye can't see you. If I can't sneak up on them, I try to lure them around a line of sight obstacle and then get the jump on them. If that isn't possible them I pop them in the eye with an arrow.

It's generally quicker and easier to kill guardians with a shield though.Sarge wrote:Yeah, the Master Sword is super useful when you're taking on the bots in Hyrule Field. Today I learnt that the Master Sword can shoot beams
Re: Zelda Breath of the Wild - Wii U vs. Switch
Which is why you should be parrying. Guardians are super easy to parry because of their long chargeup and the tell before the beam fires; a couple of attempts should let you get the timing down and then it's smooth sailing.bmoc wrote:Unless you deflect with a parry, the Guardian shields reflect beams in a random direction. Surprised stasis isn't coming up. They don't lock but for a few moments, but you can get a few whacks in at that time freely. I've done this on the few I've taken down and it tends to end up ripping a leg off which due to the forward motion of the statis release also turns them on their side or over so you can get more whacks in with the sword.

Personally I simply prefer to shoot and ancient arrow for a one hit kill. I know that it takes resources to get those arrows but as the old saying goes: "it takes money to make money."

Man, parry reflection is legit, as long as you don't miss the timing. It's also easier if you have Daruk's Protection in case you screw up. (You'll also probably lose your shield if you mess up, too.)

Does anyone have tips for defeating a Frost Talus? I got my bottom handed to me a couple times last night, and I ended up <gasp!> running away!
