If the PS3 sees another cut before the release of the PS4, it would likely bring it right in line with the PS2 price drop to just below half of the cost of the system at launch.

Yup. PS3 will get a price cut around PS4 release. What happened in the PS2/PS3 era will mimic what will eventually happen in PS3/PS4 era. The Super Slim PS3 is going to be around a long time (at least 5 years) and is going to be sold internationally as a entry level console.

Now will Microsoft do the same thing with the XB360 and Xbone...? idk. They didn't do it with the Xbox to Xbox 360 generation, which is sort of there loss. Sony made nice profits milking PS2 as long as they did.

Seriously, what the fuck happened Microsoft? All those games were released in the same time frame.

I bought the following exclusives for Xbox 360:
Forza 4
Dance Central
Dance Central 2

I bought the following PS3 exclusives:
Ni No Kuni
LBP2
God of War 3
Uncharted 3
Heavy Rain
Gran Turismo 5
Sly Cooper
White Knight Chronicles
Motorstorm Apocolypse

Here is a breakdown by year:

Yeah I seriously can't argue with this. Sony has really stepped up with some amazing titles. I think that this trend will continue in the future. Paint me surprised.

What was that thing they had a few years back called? Net TV or something like that? I feel this next Xbox will go that route. You can only build a system around first person shooters for so long till people eventually get bored.

Seriously, I hope it fails, I hope it fails big. When I buy a game that is my software license and I should be able to re-sell it for what I see fit. It would be like buying a used car then having to pay Ford or GM a fee to use it.

Maybe we can start paying fees to house builders when houses they built get re-sold over and over. Just think of the damage they can do to garages sales. The software license is paid for, they got there money, why do they feel the need to stick their hand back in my pocket. Screw Microsoft, and Xbox1, I want shit to do with it. Say what you want about Nintendo, but they are not double dipping. I bet that is why EA is dropping them, because they are not doing this to people. Imagine, a fee for a used game, that is simply money for free for them.

I hope the new Xbox flops worse than the 32X.

Crackdown was a first party game?

The thing that bugs me about those images is that they are only ever retail games. I just wish that they would count the digital only games on xbla and psn. Even though I'm guessing Sony would still come out on top, it would still be cool to see it done right.

Just for arguments sake did any of those xbox games also come out PC?

Nope, but even if they did I don't think anyone would notice them. We've got so many great games on PC these past years, those exclusives are a joke.

About three of those Sony games also came out on Sony handhelds, and none of the Microsoft games there are on PC.

Though, I'm not sure if it's a first party argument or not (does Microsoft even have first party devs?)

For example, I think most people would argue Bayonetta 2 on Wii U is a third party exclusive ... even though it's being published by Nintendo, no one is calling it "first party". On the Microsoft side, all the Halo and Gears games are made by third party studios and published by Microsoft ... so I've never really understood the distinction just because Microsoft does it, we'll change what the words mean sort of stuff. It's kind of strange.

Yep.

I'm pretty sure they would, and on top of that most of the exclusive XBLA games Xbox 360 racked up from 2005-2008 started getting ported over to PS3 once it took off.

Nope. Those games are actual exclusives.

It's not a fallacy just because you say it's a fallacy. The distinction isn't meaningful just because you say it's meaningful.
