Nice, that sounds really good. Just checked the trailer out after reading your write up and it seems right up my alley. I have a few games I'm playing at the moment, but after I finish Lone Survivor I think this will be the next game I check out. If you liked Corril Slayer you might want to check out Lone Survivor yourself, JT.Corril Slayer (8/27) PC

1-25:
26. The Darkness II (360)
27. Sega Vintage Collection: Streets of Rage (XBLA)
28. Sega Vintage Collection: Golden Axe (XBLA)
29. Need For Speed The Run (360)
30. Gravity Rush (PS Vita)
31. Theatrhythm Final Fantasy (3DS)
32. Alan Wake (360)
33. Incredible Crisis! (PS1)
34. Espgaluda 2 (360)
35. Akai Katana (360)
36. Sound Shapes (Vita)
37. Spec Ops: The Line (PC)
38. Darksiders 2 (360)
39. Botanicula (PC)
I'm not really sure when this came out, but it's a cute little adventure game made by the team behind Machinarium. It's basically a puzzle game, but with charming art and music. I think it's pretty cheap, too. I don't even consider myself a fan of adventure games, but so far this studio has not let me down.

would you count the same game on a different console? Well I am. I beat THPS2 on DC even though I beat it on PS1 for Together Retro. What can I say? Still one of my favorite games ever. It's a comfort game and I've had a lot going so it's helped me relax a bit.

I still think 2 is the best in the series, hands down.noiseredux wrote: would you count the same game on a different console? Well I am. Re: Games Beaten 2012
I just beat Call of Duty Black Ops on PC. I think it was a better game than MW2 for sure, although still not up to COD4's level. The story was complete crap just like before, but I liked the settings and weapons better. Now that this is the fourth time around with the new COD style, the shock moments now have zero shock value for me. I fully expect them, so I'm never thinking "I can't believe they're doing this!" But anywho, Black Ops felt better designed and more polished than MW2. I had fun, and that's what really counts. I'll be playing MW3 next, since my Walmart has the PC version for only $30.

I think 3 is actually the better game, but 2 must be my favorite as it's the one I always want to come back to and replay.NihonRobot wrote:I still think 2 is the best in the series, hands down.noiseredux wrote: would you count the same game on a different console? Re: Games Beaten 2012
I've had this discussion with a friend of mine pretty recently (because 3 is his favorite, too) and I was able to narrow down why I prefer 2 to a single feature. I feel the manual took a lot of the skill and strategy out of the series.noiseredux wrote:I think 3 is actually the better game, but 2 must be my favorite as it's the one I always want to come back to and replay.NihonRobot wrote:I still think 2 is the best in the series, hands down.noiseredux wrote: would you count the same game on a different console? The game went from planning out a solid line and linking tricks by using the environment to just being able to do whatever you want as long as you manual/revert between tricks. I also have a lot of great memories in THPS 2 where games of Horse got so close we were having to top the other player in increments as small as 10 points.

I honestly loved it, even if the final boss was pointlessly easy. I'm so enamoured by it, that I can even forgive the sometimes confusing level-design on the 3D stages, the laziness of sign-posting random freefalls, instead of building levels that let you deal with them with a fair shot. Even with that, it's a game that gets so very much more right than it doesn't, and it's stuffed with fondness and reverence for the little blue dodger, that you'd let it away with anything. And, I've only ever been a casual follower of the mainline Sonic titles, so I can only imagine what it must've felt like to those who'd wholly endured the home-console wilderness years between the Adventure games and the rise of Colours and Generations.
Basically, a mighty-good reboot (more or less) of the franchise, that serves as a grand template going forward. Can't wait.
