Hopefully this means they'll start getting some significant price drops. I've still got a few games I'd like to snag.

I know others have said this but if there is a Wii U game you want and don't have I would not wait on purchasing it. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Gamestop eliminated the Wii and Wii U sections as soon as they can, they need the space for Switch games. I also don't see these getting anywhere near as cheap as Wii games were for a while. Unfortunately I have about 20 more games I still want to get.

A few posts back people have reported spotting some nice deals and big price cuts though. I think retailers want to get this stuff off the shelves soon and they'll cut prices if needed. In the long run though yeah, I see the Wii U becoming Nintendo's Sega Saturn. Better get what you want for this system asap.

I got the last copy my closest GameStop had of Breath of the Wild tonight. The store has expanded more into toys, POP figures and heck - they even had valuable wall space for gift cards you could buy 100 other places. This one at least had one of those dual-sided white racks for the Wii/WiiU titles, but it was pretty sparse.

The WiiU was the first day one console I ever bought, and we certainly got our money's worth with all the co-op games and fun. I'll probably reflect more on it in the coming weeks.

There's still a bunch of first party physical titles I want to get - and even though i've stayed amiibo-free this whole time, i'd take a discounted Mario Party 10 or Twilight Princess bundle. I've been checking Nintendo's online store and they beat some retailers on price.

I also noticed that the Nintendo Select versions of recent games have nicely driven down the prices for the originals. You can get original Wind Waker and Pikmin 3 games for right around $20 gently used on eBay? That's promising.

Gamestop purchased ThinkGeek a while back, which is why pretty much all of their stores have expanded their merchandise sections. With things shifting to digital sales, having physical stuff like that to sell isn't necessarily a bad idea.

They do particularly cater to their trade-in customers though, which is why the gift cards and things like cell phones are there. More options for spending store credit.

Space for Wii and Wii U at my local ones has been shrinking, but none of them really dedicated a whole lot of space to the Wii U at any point. It just didn't have enough releases to justify it. To be fair, it's as much or more space than they had for PC games at the same time.

There are two out of 10 or so stores near me with a copy left of Breath of the Wild and those may be pre-orders not picked up yet. Amazon is out already except third party sellers. This one was likely made close to pre-order numbers and won't be available long. It certainly won't get another run and could quickly reach Sonic and Mario Rio prices or higher soon. In other words if you want one go get one, ASAP.

So what is the current count of USA physical releases?

Might be the time to start soaking them up if anyone wants to finish a relatively small Nintendo set...

What's the story on Sonic and Mario Rio? After market prices just holding at close to original retail? I saw you can still get it for full price at Target.com. Thought about it for the buy 2 get 1 - I actually like those titles for fun multiplayer.

Unless you have it at a store near you Rio isn't available at Target. If you click on the image it'll tell you it's not available for shipping. No stores near me have a copy. It's going for about $80-90 on Ebay as availability anywhere is nil. Nintendo short released this thing and before most people knew it was unavailable. If you can find a copy at retail price I'll pay you for it plus a bit extra.
