Random Gaming Thoughts
Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
Screw Metro Last Light and that stupid gas mask. It was a good game then you auto save in a shitty spot while low on filters for your gas mask. Save busted, game over. Junk, avoid it, at all cost. Thinking of the Redux, piss on it.

Just reload the last checkpoint...no? These games are both excellent and hardly broken.wclem wrote:Screw Metro Last Light and that stupid gas mask. Reload and die, reload and die, frustrating because you are correct, good game, just one busted mechanic. The auto save just hit at a really shitty time. No way am I gonna restart the game because of it. Not enough time to replay a game that shit on me. On to something else sadly.

Now I am in one of those funks where I cannot decide what to play next. Maybe I should just watch some Rocky and Bullwinkle.......

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
What was "fun" for me in Last Light was when I got to a boss fight at the end of an aboveground section low on filters and ammo and grenades. It took me something like 20 retries to get the right combination of attacks that hit plus the NPCs that show up midway through being useful plus knife work as I dodge to kill him and I'm gasping as I go through the end level in-game cutscene (but fortunately they didn't have me die during it if I took too much bad air exposure). Frustrating as hell, but such a feeling of accomplishment at the end.

I'm totally for Sleeping Dogs getting a re-release. Square needs to know people like that game.
My only qualm is if it sells well, what message does Square take away from it? That people like Sleeping Dogs? Or that people want more "Definitive Editions"? Because I think it might be the latter. Those morons don't understand anything that happens.
With that being said, it makes sense, even if it's just the PC spiffy on console. Though the number is less than it used to be, a lot of people won't play stuff on PC, so this would be a noticeable step up for people who played on PS3 or 360. If they're one of the people who didn't own anything last generation, they'll have the opportunity to play it for the first time.
I think, honestly, there's more justification for re-releasing PS3 games on PS4 and XBO than there was for re-releasing PS2 games on PS3. It's pretty unlikely that any give PS3 owner wasn't a PS2 owner at some point. But the same cannot be said for PS3 and PS4.
My guess is the next Square Enix "Definitive Edition" we'll see is Hitman Absolution. Considering that Hitman, Tomb Raider, and Sleeping Dogs were bundled together in Square's "most disappointing performance" category the other year (even though they sold millions of copies)

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
The only "next-gen ports" that I can give a monkey's toss about are the ones that end up on handhelds. Like, having Borderlands 2 and the God of War Collection on Vita is pretty cool. I'd like to see more of those releases. But a PS3 game ported to PS4? Zzzzzzz...ZeroAX wrote:Actually it was already HDoxymoron wrote:Yay another HD Remake![]()
. This is just a next-gen port.
