I'm not that much of an RPG gamer, although now that I am older I really appreciate them. Dragonquest 8 is taking me forever to beat. I feel like the game never ends. Also kind of playing Dragon Warrior as well and holy crap did I get my ass beat for the first 10 levels.

As for SMRPG. I don't know why I passed this up when I had SNES the first time.... oh yea, my parents insisted on getting me games like mario is missing instead of anything good.

You should check it out, it's pretty neat. I don't play a lot of RPGs, but I think it's fairly unique. For example, you can pick up and throw enemies and allies. And there's something called Geo Spheres which can make for interesting gameplay. Then there's the Item World, you can go into an item to level it up (at least I think that's what you do). It's pretty involved. Apparently every item has it's own "world" that you can go into. When you go into an item, it's 10 floors of enemies. You get bonuses for each floor you clear, and you level up the item this way. I think, I'm not 100% on the item world concept yet lol.
I'm definitely going to pick this up and give it a whirl after DQ8.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles on the Gamecube.
For some odd reason I think this one is going to be different, and maybe even...good?
Why did Kevin Flynn blare Journey so loud in his arcade? Was he trying to hear it from the grid?

I might disagree...

I just got to the ocean in Crystalis. I'm having a blast. It's so well built I cannot find a flaw. I owned it in the SNES golden years and never gave it a fair chance so I'm finally giving it the time it deserves. I love that the grinding is so balanced that I never say "Ugh a new grinding area" but the challenge keeps me spending just a bit more time in the areas I already went through to get some more exp and therefore MP from my next level. Kudos SNK for building a great adventure game! I can't believe the manual shows a screenshot of the final battle being won. That's kinda taboo isn't it?

Yeah, Crystalis is freaking awesome. In many ways it's even better than The Legend of Zelda. It's too bad that SNK hitched their wagon to fighting games shortly afterwards. Because Crystalis was so good, it SHOULD have been a series.

Yeah, considering I love games of these sorts... I really need to play it. I've got a friend that hypes it up a lot, probably for good reason.

Was that a typo on Anapan's part though? Don't think I see it having a SNES release.

Not a typo, just that's when I got it first. I ended up trading it for Super Street Fighter II...

If not a typo, than bad memory. Crystalis was released for NES, then years later re-released on GBC.

I haven't touched Crystalis in years, but I remember it being a cool game.
