What single player FPS campaign are you playing?
Re: What single player FPS campaign are you playing?
I'm at the part in Surface Tension where you go through the dam and then go through some pipes, but in the middle the game decided to crash. Then I switched to Hard Reset because I remembered it had that free DLC for extra levels.

I thought the trackball was a good idea for my dead mouse issue, but it's no good in multiplayer. Maybe general Web surfing, but that's about it. I snapped up a daily deal on Monoprice for a USB Slim Mouse that was $3 last week, but at $5 it's still a good price, plus it has a DPI adjustment button that changes the mouse pointer speed. MOH looks *amazing* on my new HDTV, I'll try to get a nice screenshot of it.

Speaking of Black Mesa again... call me crazy, but I kind of feel like Half-Life has aged a bit more than I want it too. Anyone else get that feeling over a game sometime? I'm pretty nostalgic for it, but I've noticed every single time I go back to replay it, I never finish it or even get that far sometimes (I often stop at the train tunnels section, that place goes on forever). The game doesn't really grab me anymore. I still think it's an essential game everyone should play (and not just Black Mesa, but the original), but yeah. Despite that being my favorite era of FPS's, I'd put Deus Ex, the Thief games, System Shock 2, and Unreal over it personally.
Dunno, pains me to say it, but my feelings on it are pretty weird at this point. Finally burned out on a game perhaps? Haha. I think HL2 ages really well though and it's easier to get addicted and run through. Feels like I replay that one yearly, lol.

I would totally agree with that, actually.
My memories of Half-Life 1 are like "HOLY CRAP!" Then I played HL2 and tried HL1 again and it's like ... Man HL2 is so much better. They just cut the fat and really focused it making it a solid experience and Half-Life 1 looks that much more dated as a result.
Still a stellar game, and I still suggest it to people ... but I definitely agree and understand what you're saying.

For some reason your description reminds me of the end of Red Faction Guerrilla (not an FPS, but awesome). Is that it?Pulsar_t wrote:I'm trying to remember the title of an fps released in the post-PS2 era where to get to the final boss you have to get up a mountain and there's an intricate machine with large shifting gears where said boss keeps taunting and popping cheap shots at you. Perhaps it's not even an fps to begin with. It's like an itch I can't scratch

Platying the Windows version of Bulletstorm, about three quarters through. Console bias is obvious in the design, but it's still a fun little fps. I also prefer its looks to Borderlands.

I'm actually OK with the PC port. Yes, I actually like GFWL, plus, it looks incredible with everything on Max.Pulsar_t wrote:Platying the Windows version of Bulletstorm, about three quarters through. We'll never know what happened to Ishi. The story is fun, despite being unoriginal, and I wasn't perturbed by the foul language despite playing the game twice over the past 15 months.KillerJuan77 wrote:I'm actually OK with the PC port.
