I've been finding common NES games at my local Goodwill's lately, nothing special.... today I went for the second time this week, last visit yielding nothing, and saw within seconds an NES (in good shape and works!). Some guy my age was browsing in the same narrow isle, so I snatched it quick, along with a Zapper and a copy of TMNT I don't need, for the grand total of $8.

I don't know what's going on but all the Goodwill's I go to in CT are jackin up prices on video game stuff. I'm pretty sure I'd have to pay something in the realm of 25 for that haul. It wasn't like that a month ago.

mine would break down more like this:

TMNT (loose) : $4.99
Zapper (loose) : $8.99
NES Console : $39.99

and that's if it was even on the floor at all. i hate my goodwills now, they RAREly have anything good, and if they do, it's usually very overpriced. i got lucky with bust-a-groove for 1.99, mainly because they price most PS1 games the same and, well, it doesn't say "nintendo" on it.

wow, that sucks. but i gotta say... there are some oddities (vs. the newer prices), I found a CIB Quake for N64 for 5 bucks last week. It's a crap shoot I guess.

it really truly is, you'll find some gems and you'll find some overpriced schlock. it sucks because it used to be so much better, with everything priced at bargain-basement prices no matter the item.

I've always had rotten luck finding anything at all in such places. I stopped checking a long time ago.

This is why you have rotten luck, to regularly pick up amazing deals you need to visit multiple stores multiple times a week, so when stuff comes in, your first on the scene.
