Everyone conveniently forgets that FFX was also corridors. The difference was there were NPCs in the corridors.

I like FFX, Its just so GRINDY! All you do is Grind (there is a point you reach where its not too hard to grind though). But the grinding required... I saw god damn!

Yup I said it in the FFXV topic that people don't liek to admit X and XIII share many of the same problem and people praise one and hate the other for mostly the same issues. I will give FFX this. Great ost and the last form Uematsu for FF. XIII OST is so forgettable.

Final Fantasy VI is the best game of all time, and Final Fantasy XIII is the worst game I have ever played.

FFVI is easily the best FF in the series. Such a classic and not aged a day in how amazing it is. FFVI and Chrono Trigger remain the best work that company has ever done. XIII is bad but if you want something so horrible it makes XIII look coherent. Play Indigo Prophecy. I seriously would rather replay Superman 64 and Roger Rabbit on NES than ever play that again. The game lost me from the beginning but the cringe reached it's breaking point at giant office bugs.
David Cage is garbage anyway but IP is mega levels of bad

Eh, set aside the myriad of character/plot type issues FFXIII has, since they're largely typical of the genre anyway...and the biggest problem the game has is that it takes so long to actually lay out the mechanics and cut you loose to play with them.

XIII-2 (at least) fixes a lot of that, but isn't helped by continuing to try and tie things back to XIII. Were it released as a completely unrelated game more people would likely appreciate it.
Lightning Returns I'm not as sure on - it seems decent enough, but it hasn't held my interest very long. I think I get hung up on trying to do things that I'm supposed to come back to later on.

Heck, let's stay old-school. Play Last Action Hero on SNES, or Bebe's Kids, or Bill Laimbeer's Combat Basketball.

My brothers and I borrowed this from someone soon after getting our SNES.

We enjoyed it at the time.

Perceived quality and choice tend to go hand in hand. If all you have are games you got for birthdays and holidays, chances are, you'll play the heck out of them (and likely enjoy them) regardless.
