Blu, I hope not! I pre-ordered the game for my mom as a birthday present. If the only card we can get is Isabelle which is comes with, I think she'll be pretty bummed.

What's crazy is, the 100 cards are "Series 1". It sounds like if they sell, Nintendo wants to release all the animals on cards.

Imagine if they did this same thing with Pokemon amiibo figures. The human race would end.

Putting an existing, or fully fledged Animal Crossing on mobile devices would be an incredibly stupid thing for Nintendo to do.
Animal Crossing is a franchise that actually drives handheld sales, people bought 3DS' to play New Leaf. Putting the same game on a phone would castrate those sales.

Animal Crossing New Leaf has relatively held its price. In stores and on the eShop the game still costs $30. Either the mobile version would have to be the same price, which would make Nintendo look ridiculous and out of touch, or it would have to be extremely cheap which would easily train people to think that a full Animal Crossing game isn't worth full retail price. That would, obviously, be damaging to the franchise from Nintendo's position.

There's also extremely real dangers involving the games media that controls so much of game audiences' perception and plants most of the roots for social stigma on the subject. Whom would love to explain to people that they need to wait and only pay $5 for Nintendo games on their phones, and never ever buy Nintendo hardware again. Hell, they seem to do that already.

Oh what was I thinking. Tanooki, how could you support a mobile Animal Crossing game when you can't get a physical copy of it that way.

Just saying.

Eh? You made me look with the laughing arrow.

I have no problem with digital rentals when they're free to like $5-10 tops. I put little value in them but I don't put no value on them. Going by that earlier post Animal Crossing would work just fine on the Android/IOS format, and size is hardly a problem. I've got the PS2 ported Bard's Tale on my tablet and that clocks in just over 3.5G, and GTA Chinatown Wars which was a PSP and DS game is almost 1GB. Just because your phone is lacking for space doesn't mean other people should be denied. Yes it's a dual screen game, but the franchise didn't start that way and could easily thanks to it being a touch panel be condensed into one without a problem. I've never heard of Island: Castaway, but I was thinking of Castaway Paradise which has the design and most elements of AC along with a few Harvest Moon like moments with the harvesting and planting of food. It's currently on IOS and PC(Steam) shortly going to Android Googleplay (and is on Amazon already.)

I have no idea where you ever thought I'd want Nintendo to give in and go tablet/phone. I've never been for that as you know I'm into physical media and won't pay up much for digital rentals I don't really own. That said I see the issues Nintendo has and if they could work with DENA and produce some premium level quality games or ports of existing games they already made that would work on Android and IOS I think it would be a benefit. It couldn't hurt to have more resources to bring in the money while being tactful about it as to not wreck their own hardware market they've controlled for decades now. They seem to start to feel that way with Pokemon Shuffle Mobile hitting Android and IOS this week. I've got that on 3DS and the conversion is great, and it even gives codes to use on the 3DS game for perks.

So who is ready for the 8-bit Mario Amiibo? Definitely going to grab that bad boy. Can't wait to see all the insanity it creates in Mario Maker. Am I right?!

I'll be getting that 8bit Mario as well. Will it be separate or bundled with the game?

I think the only amiibo I'm getting from this upcoming wave is Bowser Jr. I already imported Ganon a month ago and no interest in anyone else. Wouldn't mind a Dr. Mario but Target is always a crap shoot requiring camping outside for hours. :?

Target.com still has Dr Mario up for preorder, according to sources they will have about 80 per store as well.

As far as we know there is no Mario Maker Amiibo Bundle for the US, only the walmart wii u console bundle with modern mario. Also modern 8-bit mario only seems to be coming out in the bundle and not stand alone right now.

I got a classic 8bit mario ordered at target.com, just wish I knew when we were getting the modern so I could import it or not.

I'm in for 8bit Mario, and fairly certain the others I wanted are in that gamestop bundle other than ChibiRobo. If I go for that one since I want the game I may just upgrade to the package deal.

Chibi Robo for the US is only bundled with the game from the sources I've read.
