It was part of a 90s alt-rock movement in europe that mixes dream pop and noise pop. Basically lots of things sound blended together, but bands on the noisier side like My Bloody Valentine, the guitars sound more like jet engines rather than anything lol. They called it shoegaze because the guitarists have to press on a lot of foot pedals and basically stare at their shoes.marurun wrote:Dare I ask what shoegaze is?PretentiousHipster wrote:The band HEALTH gets a lot of hate for some reason, but I'm still way too addicted to them. If you've watched the films of Gregg Araki, he uses a lot of shoegaze music in the soundtracks to his films.

Danny Elfman released a Bowie-esque album. Not sure how I feel about it. I really like some of its composition, but his vocals are just too theatrical for me. Judging how much he likes musicals I can see REPO Man loving this. Just don't expect anything like Nightmare Before Christmas.

Is it called Big Mess?
Also, speaking of Danny Elfman and musicals, did you know he played Satan in his brother Richard's 1980 cult musical Forbidden Zone? Imagine a live-action Fleischer cartoon on better drugs.

Yea that's the name.
This is definitely one of the more interesting hip hop projects I've seen. Feels like what would happen if Bukowski chose to rap

The title track from "Phantom of the Opera" and a few covers. The original, as seen in this music video, the Nightwish cover circa the Tarja Tururen era, this Johnathan Young cover with Malinda Kathleen Reese and there's this version from 1998's Andrew Lloyd Webber: The Royal Albert Hall Celebration with Sarah Brightman and Antonio Banderas.
