My thoughts on King Colossus over here: http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopi ... s#p1049440

I don't think it's better than Crusader of Centy or Beyond Oasis, actually far from it, but I can definitely feel the Ys influence. It's no wonder Bone loves it! :)

No one will appreciate this but found for $18 over the weekend that MK1-3 2015 version of that atgames handheld genesis. If you can ignore the audio in some games and that it can not save for a few others it isnt totally awful, but close. I do not have Ristar on Genesis so I fired that up along with a few others and it was fun enough for what it attempts to do.

I am pretty obsessed with "PC-style" ARPGs. And by "PC-style" I really mean "PC-98 / MSX / X68000 style." Colossus fits the bill nicely, despite being a console exclusive.

Reminds me, I've been meaning to play Arcus Odyssey. It's a bit pricey though.

Fired up Shining Force 2 to seriously play through it for the first time in about 15 years, still find this game really fun. Made pretty good progress, I'm a few battles in after the infamous chess battle.

Been playing Contra Hard Corps. I bought this new (paper box with black and white manual) when the Genesis 3 came out. Great game but tough for me, can only get to about the 3rd or 4th level. Used cheats to finish the game.

Both my six button Sega/Majesco controllers released with the Genesis 3 do not work anymore. Smh, never even used them much. All my older Genesis 2 stuff works fine though.

Would it count discussing the Sega Genesis emulator Smash Pack in here? :P I got that game in a lot of DC discs I picked up and it's pretty fun.

Shoulder charge, slam move. It's the secret to trivializing TMNT. :)

And yes, SoR is great, except for their rebalancing of SoR3. Seriously, Sega, we're not action-gaming gods over here. Guess this was one of those Devil May Cry 3 situations. :P
