Revolver Magazine- Yay or Nay?

I'm looking for something to help me find more stuff. My preference is for heavy/doom/thrash/melodeath, but I do delve into other things at times (hardcore, metalcore, rock). I just don't know how much this magazine covers. I had the idea it was mostly rock, but then the current Turisas tour is supported by them, so I'm not so sure.

Any other recommendations are welcome.

Most metal magazines I've seen are awful and the genuinely good ones are all out of print now.

Terrorizer is okay, maybe. They're probably gone down the crapper too.

Print media is dead.

Yeah...

And Metal Maniacs is dead now too, right?

I get metal "news" from forums and whatnot.

My main issue is that I always find the same answers to the same questions. My main thing is finding good Doom/New Heavy/GOOD Mixed Clean/Harsh vocals. The last part is especially hard, considering I get few recommendations besides Christian Alvestrom bands. I've come to prefer stuff where harsh vocals are the backup/emphasis of the clean, rather than the other way around.

I'd rather not go through the trouble of making an account for a website or anything... most of my questions would be frowned upon in most of the sites I've skimmed. (Not BRUTAL enough.)

M-A's got quite a lot of trad/doom fans. Shit they have an entire recommendation board. You might find something in there.

They can be kinda snobbish sometimes, but it's loosened up a lot over the years. You'll find quite a few fans of virtually every sub-genre.

If you stroll in there acting like you own the place you will be destroyed.

Otherwise, people are pretty chill.
