Maybe not that weird, since I've always felt exactly the same way.brunoafh wrote:Maybe I'll have to try Prime again someday. It never really caught a hold of me, but every time I play it I feel like it should. Weird.

I don't even own it. That, its sequel, TLOZWW, TLOZFSA, SMS, KAR, MKDD, and SFAs are all missing from my GCN library.
Am I missing something?

Yeah, the lore downloads are fun to read, and all the little things they hint at. It just pulls you into the game more. Prime 2 is weird. It ties the first and last games together but is sort of on it's own. Also it had less space pirates which made me sad.Flake wrote:If you can, try the wii version. It feels so much smoother and fluid.Sideroller wrote:Agreed.Flake wrote:Metroid Prime is just too damn good, even after all these years.![]()
That's the game that got me into the series and the reason why I still own a GCN, haha.
It just blows my mind how much thought they put into the game. This is the first time I've played through it where I am actually bothering to read all the lore. Retro ties it in to the original Metroid so well and I am starting to see a lot of the plot elements of the third prime game being laid out already. Probably the second one, too, though I have never given that a fair shake.
And if I ever get a wii that'll be the first game I get.

I can't figure out what KAR is, but other than that yeah, I'd say you're missing something.GameMasterGuy wrote:I don't even own it. That, its sequel, TLOZWW, TLOZFSA, SMS, KAR, MKDD, and SFAs are all missing from my GCN library.

Ah, Air Ride, of course. That one didn't even cross my mind.GameMasterGuy wrote: Kirby Air Ride, Sakurai's swan song with HAL.
Honestly, that game didn't do much for me. I've been thinking about trying it again, but I found it kinda boring when I first played it.
Of course, that was years ago...

Re: Random Thoughts Thread
I was actually thinking of stocking up on GC stuff now. It's old enough to get the stuff cheap, but recent enough that retro gaming hasn't caused price inflation.
Re: Random Thoughts Thread
If you start, I'd start very soon. Gamestop just stopped carrying GC stuff so the Ebay and brick and mortar price creep is going to kick in soon.GameMasterGuy wrote:I was actually thinking of stocking up on GC stuff now. Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
Re: Random Thoughts Thread
Yeah its a good time for it.
I should do the same actually. There's a few cube games I'd like to get my hands on.

I've been snatching GC games up myself. Custom Robo, Lost Kingdoms, Baiten Kaitos, PN 03, I should probably seek out more GC-exclusive stuff that's to my liking. Speaking of GC-exclusive I just recently found out that JPN games come in awesome packaging. Definitely need to beef up that collection.
