Re: What are you playing?
after the recent Sonic Racing talk I decided to try to beat all of the cups since previously I had only played the game co-op with my wife. Man Horror Cup was a pain, I kept coming in 2nd. But two more and I'll be through the default mode.

Re: What are you playing?
My PC will be shipping Monday. So in anticipation I've bought Kingdoms of Amalur. I can't play it yet, but I've been really itching for a good aRPG. Especially one with good combat.
I watched a short livestream of it and it reminds me a lot of the original Fable in a lot of ways (in good ways).

Re: What are you playing?
I have been going back and forth between these 3 games:
Skyrim ~15hrs
Sonic Generations ~10
Serious Sam 3 ~30.
So far, I am really enjoying all 3 games. Especially Serious Sam 3
Such an awsome single player campaing and coop.

Re: What are you playing?

Picked up Magic Pengel last night and have gotten surprisingly hooked on it. I thought I'd only be playing for a few hours or so, remembering the gameplay as shallow last time I played, but I completely underestimated this gem. It kept me up all night!
Once you build up a serious palette of colors, body parts, etc. - the game's doodle creation system is an absolute blast! Every little tweak you make can have a drastic difference in how your creature performs during battle, and the possibilities only continue to expand as the game carries on.
The battles are pretty unique too, slightly different than the usual turn-based battle system, these play out more similar to Rock, Paper, Scissors; albeit deeper and much flashier.
It's a game where you really get out, what you put into it. Flexing some serious creative muscle within a game feels great, especially when you're so heavily rewarded for doing so.

I've never had my party members die like this, I don't think I'm ready for a final boss fight, even though everyone in my party is at least level 25.
Time to grind.
I've beaten the game at lower levels, but yeah, I'd say you want at least level 30ish for the final boss to be comfortable. How many djinn do you have? At this point, you'll be wanting all of them really. There's 7 of each.
I'm missing a few djinni then - I've got 6 earth, 6 water, 5 fire, and 7 wind. Everyone in my party made it to level 26 before I got burnt out/lost in the lighthouse. Having to run back and forward without a clue of what to do, gets really tiresome. I took a break.
Plan on picking the game back up tonight. Hopefully I was just being stupid, and I can figure things out. I'd hate to resort to my strategy guide; I've already made it this far on my own.
I just wanna finally start off my Games Beaten 2012 list!

I started up Killzone: Liberation. It's kind of sad; I was playing Shadowgrounds a few weeks ago and Killzone just blows it away. I can only play it in small bursts due to how fucking brown everything is, but it's still an improvement on most every other modern top-down shooter.
Also, sitting on around 110 gold medals in Wipeout Pure. I'm finally getting to the point where I don't just beat every race by using Zone Team, so the game is going to be even more of a "grind" now. Luckily, the music and gameplay are so great that it never gets old.

SNK vs. Capcom Match of the Millennium. Despite being on a two button handheld it's one of my favorite fighters ever and it includes some really fun mini games and a ton of characters (once you unlock them all).
