For those asking about the PlayStation Store, we’re still targeting restoration of all services by the end of this month. Contrary to reports, the Store will not be publishing today.

But it's my birthday I thought sony was planning on giving me two free games today.
Can't say I actually thought the store would be up today. It would have been nice for my birthday though. I'd be able to have my games downloaded when I was out drinking and then come home to some local multiplayer with my friends.
Oh and I'm more then a little pist that my ps+ games are still counting down to the expiration date still seeing as the store is down taking away time from my ps+ is redundant since I really cant use ps+ for anything til the store is up.
Can't wait for E3 that should be funny.

Happy Birthday flex wood!
And your PS+ should be fine. I remember reading they'll make sure you get your time back. Whether they mean just the free month or an extension on top of that, I'm not sure.

Think this addresses a lot of arguments, especially people saying it's sony's fault for being hacked.

I agree with a lot of the points he's making.AmishSamurai wrote:http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/ ... ty-Episode

I don't agree with his view on the free credits thing however. PSN doesn't operate with "credits", PSN purchases are made with straight up cash. I honestly can't fathom how anyone could expect Sony to just hand out $20 or whatever to every single PSN user.
Re: Anonymous strikes again
You put £10 into PSN. Can you take it back out again? No. It's a credit. Therefore there is absolutely zero fucking difference between that and MSP or Nintendo points.brunoafh wrote:I agree with a lot of the points he's making.AmishSamurai wrote:http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/ ... ty-Episode

Edit: Furthermore I don't agree with some of the points in the video regarding who's fault it was. Making the analogy between banks is completely false when you factor in the security flaws that Sony had in their system. If a bank leaves the vault open by accident and somebody comes and steals all your money out of the bank. Who do you blame? I certainly wouldn't blame the robbers, that's pointless, what's going to happen? Honestly? Find the robbers and make them give the money back to you? No, ain't gonna happen. You hold those responsible for leaving the door open at fault. This wasn't some super advanced bank heist level brute force attack on Sony's servers. This was a trivial hack that ANYBODY who knows a thing or two about computer security and how to get into a closed system from the outside can do. Sony left the doors open. It's their fault. Bottom line.

I didn't say there was any difference between Microsoft points nor Wii points. That's not what I meant at all. What I meant is that you buy the games with cash. They're taxed. Devs pay to have the games hosted and Sony pays to keep the service hosted. They can't just dump cash into everyone's account, pay the government the tax on whatever you decide to buy, and pay the royalties to company you bought content from.Niode wrote:You put £10 into PSN. I'd blame the robbers. I'd also be pissed at the bank, but at the end of the day the person who took my money was the guy in the ski mask.Niode wrote:Making the analogy between banks is completely false when you factor in the security flaws that Sony had in their system. Re: Anonymous strikes again
It's both peoples fault! The robbers who came in and took the money and the idiot who left the vault open.
Anyway at this point I just want my free games! When the hell is the store coming up? Blaaah on waiting. Well the Network should be secure now and we get free games. This is supposed to be a happy occasion! Let's not bicker and argue over who killed who!
