I started up Black Mesa ... it's very good.

I've discovered that happiness is having enough magnum/crossbow ammo. But the MP5 when burst fired at long range can do in a pinch. In the middle of Questionable Ethics and hl2.exe decided to crash on me, so calling it a night. Plus, I'm REALLY not in the mood to push on to Surface Tension.

MP5? So the weapons in the game are based off the pre-Blue Shift graphical upgrade version?

Correct, because it made no sense for an M4 to be firing 9mm ammunition.

Yeah... but I like the way the M4 looks better than the MP5.MrPopo wrote:Correct, because it made no sense for an M4 to be firing 9mm ammunition.
Oh well, I guess I won't play Black Mesa then. Changing my weapons around, stupid jerks.

What is Black Mesa? Is it an actual campaign?
Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.

Remake of HL1 using the source engine. Unlike HL:S, everything is fully rebuilt, rather than it just being a port.Stark wrote:What is Black Mesa? Is it an actual campaign?
Funny, I said the same thing about Blue Shift, except I played it, since changed weapon models is a stupid reason not to play something.Oh well, I guess I won't play Black Mesa then. Changing my weapons around, stupid jerks.

Good thing for me I was being sarcastic. I've been waiting for Black Mesa for years; I'm not going to let a changed weapon model deter me from playing.MrPopo wrote:Funny, I said the same thing about Blue Shift, except I played it, since changed weapon models is a stupid reason not to play something.Oh well, I guess I won't play Black Mesa then. That's neat! How come it stops at the Lambda Core chapter? Are they planning on finishing it out?MrPopo wrote:Remake of HL1 using the source engine. Unlike HL:S, everything is fully rebuilt, rather than it just being a port.Stark wrote:What is Black Mesa? Is it an actual campaign?

They are planning on finishing it. I think the thing is that no one likes Xen in the original HL and they're planning on it being a full reimagining, and that most people won't mind being able to play through all the good parts of the original in the initial release.
