I didn't see it live, but my geography teacher had been one of the finalists and had made friends with Sally Ride. She took a break to go to the teacher's lounge when the launch was happening. We didn't exactly get back to class when she returned. We all wrote letters of condolence to send to her family that our teacher sent.D.D.D. wrote:Indeed.I still remember watching Challenger in class (live).

If he wants to smoke something in Amsterdam, he'd better do it now.SamuraiMegas wrote:Brother just took off from Minneapolis connection and is headed to Amsterdam.
Four months from now a new Dutch law will be in effect making it impossible for tourists to buy weed in a coffeeshop anymore. That's already the case in the southern provinces closest to Belgium. Resulting in a street dealer infestation and elevated crime rates. That law is so bad even 90 percent of Dutch residents buy their weed from street dealers now instead of going to the shop. Simply because they don't want to be registered as pot smokers...

Yeah, I had this happen too. One of the defining moments of my early life. I'm not sure why, but I also saw Columbia live.D.D.D. wrote:Indeed.BoringSupreez wrote:I knew the astronauts dying off would begin sometime, but I haven't been looking forward to it. Flemish is not Dutch. Flanders is the Dutch speaking part of Belgium. So nope, no card for me...D.D.D. wrote:Did you get your registration card yet?
I know, it's confusing. Just keep in mind Belgium is an artificially created country. Nothing makes sense here... lol

I always mix up Flemish and Flanders. Then again Holland AKA Netherlands AKA Dutch people is always fun.elmagicochrisg wrote:Flemish is not Dutch. Flanders is the Dutch speaking part of Belgium. So nope, no card for me...D.D.D. wrote:Did you get your registration card yet?
