Just found out about Tones and I - Dance Monkey on repeat. That replaced the last Mystery Skulls album. My music tastes are not going in the direction I want. I may have to remix them myself to get the memetic melodies into a different direction. Gathering audio equipment- that's almost done. Some drum pads and some friends we may be able to get some music that suits my mood produced. it's a long shot, but the videos of italy blocks raving to evangelion got me stoked.
Yea that one is a masterpiece, but starting from Exai their sound completely changed. It seems like it's now music generated by computer algorithms. There is a somewhat randomness to it when I heard the live albums from 2015 because although the gist of the songs were the same (this sound going on a 4/4 beat) the actual music of it is always completely different which I guess confirms that there is more computer and less human input into it.
It may come across as lazy to some people, but I find this to be easily their best era because it doesn't sound human at all. I feel like I lose touch with reality when listening to it.
Lately I've been listening to the Boldy James and Alchemist album, The Price of Tea in China. It was originally released in early February and I listened to it a lot at the time, but have been revisiting it again this week. So far it's my favorite album of the year.
