I'd be pretty grossed out removing it too. In fact, I don't even know if I'd be able to do it with gloves on. I'd probably have to grab some tongs or something.
This sort of thing always reminds me of two things.
I was once helping my Dad replace light bulbs in the outdoor light fixtures. I got down off the ladder to put some gloves on so I could clean out the dead moths. My Dad told me that my Grandfather would have just dusted them off with his bare hands. He went on to tell me that he would remove mice from mouse traps so he could reuse the traps, and did it with his bare hands.
Well I ended up picking up road kills about 10 times a summer for the 5 summers I worked with the DOH so it's nothing new still felt pretty icky though . Sucker was really stuck in there think his legs are still pinched up in there just glad most of him came out in one piece though took a heck of a lot more force then I expected it to good thing that SOB had one strong neck.
The original Mario Bros. was ported to the 2600. It's nothing like Super Mario Bros. though it's basically a versus mode with you fighting in a 3 tier stage with pipes which spawn enemies. I think SMB 2 or 3 featured basically an upgraded version as a side mode.
