Yeah, that's one of my favorite parts about those games. When you get that rhythm going, you can rack up ridiculous combos and it makes you feel like... well, I guess Batman. :) I don't actually use much variety with the combat, despite the numerous moves, although it can be a lot of fun stealthing dudes as well.

Starcraft is a poor attempt at ripping off the Warhammer 40,000 universe, and while Games Workshop isn't exactly rosy, I'm a big enough fan not to appreciate knock offs of the Imperium of Man. FOR THE EMPEROR!

They're fine games, and I've played both, but I don't consider myself a fan for these reasons. Truth be told, I'd rather play Warcraft.

I don't know how much the final product resembles fantasy warhammer but Warcraft was suppose to be warhammer game but the was issues with the license i think.

Correct you are! But both of them blatantly take /so/ much from guys like Tolkien, I think that's why Games Workshop has never tried to take action against them. The whole "Humans Vs Orcs" story as a theme isn't exactly original X3

Games Workshop is ALWAYS willing to sue if they think they have even a remote chance of prevailing.

Yeah, that's why I have considerably less of an issue with Warcraft. I do prefer the original to the later entries though, as the first felt less cartoony. The art style in the second started to throw me off, even if troll axe throwers are a favorite unit of mine.

The best Warcraft game is Warcraft Adventures. Cheesy animations and jokes. Thrall has so many slip on a banana peel moments that it is like a fever dream. At one point he rides a fat pig with a jetpack.

We don't talk about Warcraft Adventures: Lord of the Clans.

 Mildly relevant "advice" on fantasy races:

It's not like StarCraft was much more original either. It's Starship Troopers + Aliens. I always thought Blizzard was pretty good at taking the familiar and twisting it into its own thing however.

That's more or less how I've always looked at it. I'd probably begrudge Blizzard more for being so similar lore-wise if their earlier storytelling hadn't've been so good compared to Warhammer's near non-existent in-game(?) narratives.

Do you mean in-game narrative as in flavor text in the rule books, story based off games between players, or video games? Because Warhammer and 40K have a ridiculous amount of lore if you seek it.
