I LOVE the isometric perspective in games. I love the depth it adds, love platforming in it, love everuthing about it! 2d games with an isometric perspective are huge breaths of fresh air!
I have mixed feelings on the isometric thing. I LOVE the look of PC titles, both old and new that use it. RTS's or RPG's, the point and click stuff with moveable characters, etc. But I don't seem to be a fan of playing these things at all anymore. Planescape almost put me in a coma. Also got bored of the new Shadowrun like 10 minutes in. I might try out Divinity Sin II sometime though, it sounds fascinating. But I kind of keep away from these games now, even though they're pretty to look at.
But if you're talking sprite pixel based isometric stuff... I love those. The weird Cool Spot Goes to Hollywood, etc, but most importantly, Sonic 3D Blast RULES. I love it. People don't even know! Super Mario RPG looks freaking cool too, which you're playing now I believe.
