I just saw My Bloody Valentine last night (the new one). I am very easy going when it comes to horror movies as I feel most true fans are. I hate when people pick apart a movie due to personal tastes rather than on whether or not the movie fulfills what it set out to achieve. For instance, MBV was not the perfect movie, but it was a slasher flick and followed the formula pretty successfully. I have heard so many negative reviews like "of course the victim ran UP the stairs instead of out the door." NO SHIT! The point of that person existing in this film is to get killed for being stupid.

Sorry just a rant on my recent hatred of reading movie reviews on imdb.com.

I also recently saw Planet Terror, which was fantastic. I know it does not feature Romero style zombies and I know the zombies rot right away, which is not what a real body would do under similar conditions - like you know how a real body acts when it becomes a zombie in real life... these are complaints I have seriously heard. It was great as an exploitation film - the most extreme of all situations for no other purpose, but for the viewer to have fun. The bullets from a small handgun blowing a body in half is a perfect example. Deathproof, on the other hand, was a little but more disappointing. Only in the beginning though with the long drawn out introduction of the characters. This, again, follows the format of your typical car chase film so it should not be faulted. And once the car chase begins its the SHIZNITE!

Am I the only one who doesn't watch all the crazy out-there movies you guys seem to gravitate towards? Tonight I watched Muppet Treasure Island, which makes me feel like an outsider compared to all your Japanese Westerns and movies designed for the sole purpose of offending the masses.

Actually, Sukiyaki Western Django was a really good film. You might like it Mr. Popo. My only complaint was that the ability of some of the actors to give their lines in English was hit or miss.

And there's nothing wrong with Muppet Treasure Island, though I was more a Great Muppet Caper and Muppets Take Manhattan kind of guy.

As for Planet Terror and Death Proof, I loved Planet Terror. Awesome film that stuck to its guns and did what it needed to do. As for Death Proof, I actually forgot Kurt Russell was in the movie. Seriously, I had forgotten what movie I was watching, and what the point of said movie was.

Those aren't bad, but there is a distinct lack of Tim Curry in those films. And the more of Tim Curry's work I see the more I want to see. He just brings joy to every role he plays.
