Either I decide to check if there's a line while I head out Saturday morning, or I just wait for a Japanese/EU one to pop up on the cheap because I don't care about boxes as I pitch them.

Now ROB for Japan will be the Famicom colors, pretty sure he was still gray in EU versions. Personally I'm going to try to get a ROB from Japan if I can.

no one really knows for sure. people think they will be individual and the 3pk is just exclusive to GS.

cool I really don't follow amiibo news just a couple alert things to know when they go on sale. I'm not worried about this wave, I've imported everything I could so I just need this 3pk, 8 bit Mario, and a famicom ROB

Yeah, looks like the 3-pack is a Gamestop exclusive. I went and pre-ordered one this afternoon and was told I had only been the 5th or so person to ask about it. So they might still have some if you're at all interested.

However, I did read somewhere that Nintendo was, either thinking about, or going to, release the three Splatoon characters (boy, girl and squid) separately at some point. Of course, I don't know if that's true and I can't find that particular article now that I'm looking for it, but it might mean that the three characters in the retro 3-pack may at one point be available separately. But again, I don't know.

The one I go to not near the mall (east of here) is considered a big store to the chain, they were allotted 61 bundles. I decided not to bother in the morning, kept my nephew with me and did the flea market instead. I got back up around this area near the store around 11:30, so I figured why not and went in. They still had them and plenty too and the store rep was happy about that as he's fed up with all the shortages and the headaches over it (talked to him before.) So I put down the $5 since it's an exclusive. I'm happy, I mean like what's the odds the 3 pack had 3 things I did want that aren't really tied to each other like those splatoon toys. I do want that Mario Maker 8bit NES SMB1 looking mini Mario. The doctor looks nice, but I'll likely skip it as I'm burned out on that.

The funny thing is I've been more after the 8bit/16bit guys I want, and I still skip the overly common junk as they'll just end up clearancing the stuff out to more manageable shelf numbers anyway sooner or later.

I'm up to 7 of them now. Mega Man, Toon Link, Samus, Pac-Man, Charizard, Ness, and Fox.

Definitely this. The clerk at the store I went to said that they had a 30 limit (which seems to be on the low end, as I've read others online giving much higher numbers), only 2 people had been there when they opened to get pre-orders and by the time I got there (around 11:30ish) that I was only the 5th or so to ask about them. Then, before I left, he told me to tell all my friends because they still had a bunch left

So if anyone missed out today, I'd say you have at least a semi-decent chance for tomorrow.

Most people over at CAG think that Gamestop will allow the 3pk to be preordered thru today then pull them so gamestop.com can do their bundles that they like to do so well.

I've seen some news around that GameStop will continue to take instore pre-orders till 8/10/15 at close. Only $5 required for the pre-order. Check with other friends, they may only want one or two to split the costs. I've already had some one mention they want one of the extras.

My local stores had pretty small lines and pretty decent numbers, but there are quite a few stores here, so a bit more than they needed in my area.

Got my import Dr. Mario in the mail yesterday. It is probably my favorite of all the Mario series Amiibos other than Mario Party Bowser. It has so much character.
