Waku Waku is a tough one to find as it's right in the ballpark of monetary value where it's prone to bootlegging (anything $400 and up is where you start finding boots in regard to AES). So finding an original at a good price was awhile in the making, but it definitely makes it more rewarding when it finally hits.

I've been passing on Chupon's MVS cart of Waku Waku 7 for almost a year now as i've been holding out hope of finding an AES copy under $500. Finally did; granted it was a bit cheaper as the artwork has some sunfade, not horrible, but i'll look to upgrade at some point.

Nice Mike! That was one of the first titles I seeked out when I got my MVS, I've had the Saturn version forever though. Great game, definitely one of the most colorful games on the Neo-Geo. And the Music is just awesome! Pretty cool that they could put some CD quality soundtracks on there, Dandy J's is by far my favorite theme
CONGRATURATIONS!!!

It's crazy how terrible the backgrounds look in the saturn version, once I got on Neo I was thinking "Oh wow, this looks great!" Oh yea, last boss stinksninjainspandex wrote:Nice Mike! So I ended up selling my WW7 MVS on the Bay for a little over $100. Sold in 3 hours hahaha. Had opened it with board pics and it was legit although the shell wasn't in the best condition. I'm glad to see you got the AES version. The game is great but I'm able to emulate it on my cab and so far I haven't noticed any slow down or sound / graphics glitches. I know everyone has a problem with emulation but eh. I'd rather have $100 to spend on something else for now. Don't worry though - I've still got my ~15 or so other top MVS games that I won't be selling any time soon.
I guess I hold the Last Blade series, KoF98, and Garou a little closer to my heart then Waku Waku 7.

Great find. I'm assuming ebay? That title isn't terribly common in (legitimate) MVS form, let alone AES, so congrats. It even gets passed up on the multicart releases as well sometimes, so that makes it more desirable.
The cosmetic stuff really does take the price down. There was a recent auction for a US Savage Reign that went through Game Dude. That was enough to deter the "collectors".
Just find yourself a good deal on matrimelee, and you've got the "wacky" fighters covered

Time for a bit of hope on the Card Fighters front.
Tonight I beat the tough three match semi finals and made it to the final of the tournament.
Without giving away spoilers I'm sure Noise will be relieved to know that it was both doable with a relatively meek hand and that once the 3 contenders are beaten you are given access to a new area and are able to save. (There is also a couple of secrets and a secret battle hiding on the screen you are returned to).
CAUTION HOWEVER: I think the rest of the map is locked off from this point on (or maybe until you win the finals).
Anyway, the night began surprisingly when I beat Fo in under five moves! How? Mecha Zangief plus Lightning as my first draws enabled me to strike half her energy away in one hit. Surprisingly she didn't even attempt to block the second attack, which I briefly considered stalling on then played anyway. She was banished in two attacks!
The second match was harder but again I found a pattern in powering up my characters and waiting to strike with them in one deadly attack (often taking damage by not blocking). Here Daigo came in handy as his "Finish it" attack gives him 1600 health to start with if the CPU has a full hand of three cards.
The last match went a similar way. Take damage and build up the heavy hitters. (sometimes a unified attack isn't always the best choice) I beat him first time and am now able to access the finals.
I didn't get much in the way of plunder except one new A card with 900 bp (I forget his name).
Anyway, good to report that progression isn't the hopeless task we thought it might be with a meagre hand.

Re: Let's talk about your NEO GEO collecting + PRICE GUIDES
Won an auction for this little bundle today on ebay for £45 including postage:

The seller did not individually name the games that they were selling in the listing. There's a couple of duplicates in there in Sonic and Pac Man which I already have but it was the other three games that caught my eye, particularly the one on the bottom which I've only seen going for big money (albeit boxed).
I'm presuming that these games are all cart only and I'm not sure what region they are (perhaps someone here can help identify by the label), but I think for the price I did pretty good. Was surprised the bidding didn't go higher.
Excited to play Cotton!

Re: Let's talk about your NEO GEO collecting + PRICE GUIDES
wow that would be a good price for Cotton alone.
Re: Let's talk about your NEO GEO collecting + PRICE GUIDES
That was my thinking. I was wondering if maybe the carts are Japanese or something. I think I just got lucky because the buyer didn't directly advertise or mention what games he was selling so maybe no other collectors took notice unless they checked the picture.noiseredux wrote:wow that would be a good price for Cotton alone.
Crush Roller has been on my to get list for a while too so glad to pick that one up and the Reversi game is a new one for my collection too.
I don't know how much Cotton generally attracts for cart only. I've only seen boxed versions advertised for £100+ but I still think its fairly uncommon to see and a niche genre on the NGPC.
