Started playing this today, put about three hours in it. I had no idea there were on foot sections. Because of course you want to jump out of your wanzer and go gunning around on foot, that's why you bought a giant mech piloting game.
Lol, I know that was an odd choice but at least they are pretty quick segments. I feel Square was cranking out titles then to get back in the game, not the best entry in the series but a fun time to be had I like the levels and missions. Be warned the last boss is very tough!
On PC there is one on foot section that crashes the game 95+% of the time. Really enjoyed the game but almost had to give up on it due to that bug :P. Took like 30-40 tries before I managed to slip past it.

Daughter and I made it to level 9 of Binary Land (Famicom)!

She thinks it's a two-player game. It isn't. Her controller is unplugged. And a Genesis controller.

Wow frags then you should be ready for the final boss, took me 30-40 tries to beat him.

lol, excellent. I don't blame her, though. If I didn't already know how it controls, I could potentially be fooled into thinking I was controlling one of them, for a minute or two.

On foot sections in vehicular combat games always suck. It was bad in Star Fox Assault, bad in Rogue Squadron III, bad in MechAssault 2, etc. But as you said, the sequences are short thankfully.

Also, Square didn't actually make Front Mission Evolved, they farmed it out to Double Helix Games for development.

Yea I know they didn't make it I just meant they were publishing/pumping games out at that time if I remember correctly. Nier, Kane & Lynch, Front Mission seemed like they were cash crazy to remain relevant or building back up to get back from losses prior.

Yes, it does. That level is one of the worst I've played in a video game. You'll want to hold down the left shoulder button.
